That makes the most sense to me, given that IM2 did have that painting which alluded to Obama's existence. But the invasion of NYC changed history completely.

Here's something VERY cool for all your HD nuts and video editors.

A 5.1 LCPM/DTS-HD Master Audio version of the new trailer. It's been taken from the 3D 2K Cinema source and has been compressed to 500MB. Video editors can use Audacity to separate the different tracks and the quality is even a step above QT versions.

Maybe instead of Obama, that painting was only meant for only Iron Man in the MCU.

Because clearly in the world of fiction Iron Man > Obama.

A few people have expressed the opinion that Ben Kingsley's voice in the trailer sounds like Heath Ledger's Joker. That is so far from the truth that it's as if they never actually heard Ledger speak in TDK. The following video compares Ledger's Joker voice to Tom Waits' speaking voice in an interview that aired on Australian TV in the 1970s. I defy anyone to listen to that and still claim that Kingsley sounds anything like Ledger.

He should have his Oscar stripped! He ripped him off!

Joking of course. Just like when everyone heard the first trailer and said that Iron Man 3 was using the same sounds as TDKR music when Iron Man falls into the ocean. I took it as implying the sound of all the twisted metal falling around him. We could find similarities in everything. From now on, anytime someone takes a city or the like hostage in a comic book movie, they are ripping off Nolan's trilogy.

People are just following Rule 3 of SHH, which is that one cannot go three pages in a thread without comparing an aspect of a given movie to Nolan's Batman.

It's REALLY annoying for those of us who'd like to forget those Nolan movies exist.

The past 20 years in Hollywood may be viewed in two time points. Before Nolan, and After Nolan. Every comic book movie is going to be compared to that standard. No sugar coating it. Just get your future movies up to par if you are in the business of adapting superheroes.

says who? Who made Nolan the end all and be all of movie making? His rabid online fanbase? If you want a standard where a movie fully embraced the fantasy part of comics and had the right level of realism without diluting the fantasy part- then that would be Avengers. That is the measuring stick for comic book movies IMO. Now can we please get back to the movie that this board is for? Looks like in the trailer at about :48 is looks like Rhodey being sucked out of Air Force one. Does anyone else see that?

May I say that I think that is a complete load of bull****. As far as I am concerned there's the MCU films and everything else. That's the only separation I see.

I agree with your assessment with respect to Nolan and am tired of him coming up in every discussion about comic related films. Has anyone seen the trailer for IM3 in the theater attached to OZ the great and powerful? Thanks

I might just go see Oz just to catch the IM3 #2 trailer on the big screen.

I said it once, and I'll say it again. The Nolan movies were great movies. they were.

However, as comic book movies, I didn't enjoy them. Too much realism. I am watching a movie with batman, bane, the joker, scarecrow...they are comic book characters. The movie doesn't HAVE to be realistic. I want to see comic book characters come to life on screen.

Different take, sure. But I thought in terms of the comic book aspects of those movies, aside from batman begins, the other two were just very boring for me to watch as a comic book fan.

I can hear a slight resemblence in Kingsley and Ledgers voice but if you listen to the Mandarin in the new trailer, he doesn't sound quite as deep. Especially the way he says 'Today' he sounds more like General Aladeen from the Dictator lol 'Today-ee'

This should be the comic book movie version of Godwin's Law.

Nolan's Law: The longer an online discussion of a comic book movie goes on, the probability of a comparison involving Nolan or The Dark Knight trilogy approaches 1.

In other words, given enough time, in any online discussion of CBMs—regardless of topic or scope—someone inevitably makes a comparison to Nolan's Batfilms.
