I'm not mad that Nightcrawler's not in this.. This cast is loaded enough as is. All this means is a potential open slot for someone we haven't seen before, or a return of a more integral character of the OT.

Have the future time traveler at Xavier's school and all of a sudden you see James Marsden's Scott Summers/Cyclops walking down a set of stairs and calling the team to gather around as he's obviously the leader now and then Famke Janssen's Jean Grey walks up to him&holds his hand...

Or IF the traveler is old Magneto then Cyclops shows up leading an X-Men team ready to battle.
Sort of anti-climactic. Kills the anticipation for more sequels to FC set in the past. People will just be begging for X-4 at that point.

Drag it out over one more film without ending this one on a complete cliff hanger, since I think they need to jump to the 80's/90's next time.

Yeah, I want the next purely FC film to be the origin of the Scott/Jean/Ororo team

With regards to Nightcrawler remember Shawn Ashmore claimed he knew nothing and then 3 days later he was announced.I don't see why James Mcavoy would say his name considering he never worked with Alan Cumming before and Alan was only In 1 X-Men film.

If they do a followup to Days of future past with first Class actors It would likely be the Cyclops/Jean/Storm Introduction film.

Maybe McAvoy got mixed up and there is instead a baby Nightcrawler in it, the offspring of Mystique...

The time is ripe for another Singer tweet!

They won't need to "cram" any of these characters/actors. 40-60 minutes sounds about right assuming only 2 or 3 of the returnees actually have significant parts to play. IMO there will be some set up/catch up and then a fast paced action tempo as far as the future sequences go=less screen time. The story will slow down and begin to build up for the past sequences IMO=more screen time. I'd be shocked if Singer gave us the reverse of that. Fassbender, MaCavoy, Lawrence, and '73 will get the lion's share IMO.

Any word on whether Kelsey Grammar will be back? I always wanted to see more of his Beast, and it makes sense given Nicholas Hoult is back...

I think he tweeted a week or two ago that he wouldn't be back.

Can anyone answer my question about Cerebro? In X2, did Strykr take the one that Prof X always used or did he create a second version of Cerebro? Just curious cause I have in my story, Prof x using Cerebro...

It's difficult to answer something that wasn't answered in the films. Do you think we have some sort of mutant insider knowledge or what? lol

Cerebro was never mentioned in X-Men: The Last Stand and it's reasonable to assume that it was no longer operational at the mansion because parts of it had been removed and were underneath the collapsed dam.

But in the novelisation, I believe there is a part where it says Xavier is reluctant to use Cerebro to find Jean (after she leaves the mansion) because if he connects to her through the machine, she could cause psychic feedback that would fry his brain.

Cerebro was mentioned In Last Stand but Xavier didn't want to use It to find Jean due to
danger due to her phoenix persona.

Or I could just say that Beast was able to come up with a back up in order for Prof X to use Cerebro again at the mansion... or something like that. I mean come on, Beast is smart Heck, even Jean was able to fix Cerebro in X1...those two are smart.

Since it was never definitely stated that it was working or not after X2, you can do whatever you want depending on the needs of your story. Either it was fixed, or it's waiting to be fixed, or it is out of action without Magneto to help put all the panels back in place..

Okay...What I'll need is to add a scene or two with Beast fixing Cerebro...Not sure how to go about that. As for the story, its essentially Jean and Scott's. Its their story.

So, let's make a count.

70s:
- Xavier (McAvoy)
- Magneto (Fassbender)
- Beast (Hoult)
- Mystique (Lawrence)

Future:
- Xavier (Stewart)
- Magneto (McKellen)
- Wolverine (Jackman)
- Storm (Berry)
- Iceman (Ashmore)
- Rogue (Paquin)
- Kitty (Page)

Unknown:
- Omar Sy
- Peter Dinklage

So at least they need some members in 70s, in both Brotherhood and X-Men sides. FC has the right members:
- Banshee (Landry Jones)
- Havok (Till)
- Azazel (Flemyng)
- Emma Frost (Jones)
- Angel Salvadore (Kravitz)
- Riptide (Gonzalez)

They can kill off the last two members in a while or a fight. But in this case justified First Class' final scenes. Then they can or can't go with Moira (Byrne) but these members are needed.

Plus I see (in future) Colossus (Cudmore), Cyclops (Marsden), Angel (Foster), Beast (Grammer), Nightcrawler (Cumming) and, why not, Mystique (Romijn) coming back. But wow, this cast is huge!

Damn. I was hoping Nightcrawler would be back too. Oh well, I'll try to not be greedy.

...and as soon as I typed that, the word 'recast' sprang to mind.

Yeah I was hoping Alan Cumming would come back as Nightcrawler but unless we get a tweet by Singer to clarify wither he's returning, that'll be nice.

NO. I mean a young Scott or Jean.

This is meant to contradict Jean being a kid in the 80s in X3 and Scott being at the 3 mile island incident in Origins as a teen in the 80s.

No Alan Cumming:

Despite consistent rumors to the contrary, ComingSoon.net has confirmed that Alan Cumming will not be reprising his X2 role of Kurt "Nightcrawler" Wagner in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
