Just Curious.
Would the excitement for this be much greater if Brian Singer was directing wolverine?

Not from me. I really like Mangold. And my excitement is already very high!

Maybe...but while I am not that excited about this movie yet, it will depend on what I see in the trailer. So my excitement hasn't been raised too high yet...
As for DOFP...that's a different story.

Not as much as if Aronofsky was still directing.

Hells yeah, effin right! No one can say that they wouldn't absolutely go bananas for an Aronofsky R-rated Wolverine flick!

yea, if DA was still directing this might be the most antip cbm of the year(and people would probably be pushing for him to do xmen after).
Sucks cause he was sooo close. I still think he's may be the one the ends up with the batman reboot in the end though. Anyways I only bring up singer cause people do love him but no one really ever brings up how accurate his wolverine is. People praise Jackman though.

But yes. Can you imagine the visuals from a fear gas infected Batman (and others) with Aronofsky directing? How about a score from Clint Mansell? I..I need to stop. Quote:

Singer's brief take was alot better, but both fail in comparison to that popular 90's imagery of the same material. Something about that was...dream like.
him in that red water with the mask...then the snow.

The mask would have been cool. X2 did a good job at the flashback, it's all that was needed IMO. Origins just over-did everything. In my head, there's no Origins and X2 was the Weapon X film of the series.

And the mask is in Origins. When he gets to Three Mile Island and he's walking up to Stryker, he looks over and it's right by the window. Couldn't believe they had it in the movie and didn't use it.

Yes. But since this movie is just featuring 1 character from the original trilogy. The excitement of this movie wouldn't be that high compare to DOFP.

Another reason for me to dislike Origins further.

Weird. I wonder if it was intended to be more than just an easter egg originally? Maybe it was made for a previous draft of Origins? In the videogame tie-in they do use the helmet to try and fry his brain and Stryker openly offers Wolverine the option of having his memories erased after Silver Fox's apparent betrayal if I recall correctly. Though I'd have to check to make sure. The scene is likely on youtube.
