Just Curious.
Would the excitement for this be much greater if Brian Singer was directing wolverine?

Not from me. I really like Mangold. And my excitement is already very high!

Maybe...but while I am not that excited about this movie yet, it will depend on what I see in the trailer. So my excitement hasn't been raised too high yet...

As for DOFP...that's a different story.

And I just learned there's a GI Joe movie on the way.

Actually I knew this but forgot amidst anticipating other movies.

Not as much as if Aronofsky was still directing.

Hells yeah, effin right! No one can say that they wouldn't absolutely go bananas for an Aronofsky R-rated Wolverine flick!

yea, if DA was still directing this might be the most antip cbm of the year(and people would probably be pushing for him to do xmen after).
Sucks cause he was sooo close. I still think he's may be the one the ends up with the batman reboot in the end though.

Anyways I only bring up singer cause people do love him but no one really ever brings up how accurate his wolverine is. People praise Jackman though.

Let's hope to God he doesn't use the year One script.

But yes. Can you imagine the visuals from a fear gas infected Batman (and others) with Aronofsky directing? How about a score from Clint Mansell?

I..I need to stop.

When I think about the brief green tinged flashback of Wolverine escaping from Wolverine, blood all over his nude body, and contrast that to the cool, comforting blues and bright lighting of the Weapon X scene from his own movie, with nary a scratch on him, it makes me palm my face.

Singer's brief take was alot better, but both fail in comparison to that popular 90's imagery of the same material. Something about that was...dream like.

him in that red water with the mask...then the snow.

The mask would have been cool. X2 did a good job at the flashback, it's all that was needed IMO. Origins just over-did everything. In my head, there's no Origins and X2 was the Weapon X film of the series.

And the mask is in Origins. When he gets to Three Mile Island and he's walking up to Stryker, he looks over and it's right by the window. Couldn't believe they had it in the movie and didn't use it.

Yes. But since this movie is just featuring 1 character from the original trilogy. The excitement of this movie wouldn't be that high compare to DOFP.

Another reason for me to dislike Origins further.

Barry Windsor Smith's work on the Weapon X storyline was just amazing. Dream like is definitely the word, or nightmarish. It must be one of the greatest Wolverine comics of all time.

I had no idea the mask turned up in Origins. Oh well, I'm past being disappointed by that film.

Though I'd have to check to make sure. The scene is likely on youtube.
