Anybody have recommendations for some NON-Geoff Johns-scripted Green Lantern arcs? Only one I've read was Emerald Dawn, and I didn't care for that too much, but I'm still very interested in getting other writers' takes on the character despite how much I enjoyed Rebirth, Sinestro Corps Wars and Secret Origin.

the only GL I've read is every silver age issue and geoff johns' stuff so far

the silver age stuff is entertaining in an historical sense, and has some neat ideas. can't think of any single issue i would recommend.

johns' run is ending soon and robert venditti is taking over. his demon knights has been good so it could be pretty nice ioo. V_V

I would highly recommend reading Tomasi's Green Lantern Corps Run. I think it starts at the tail end of Sinestro Corps War or right after it. It's really great stuff. It feels much larger in scope than what Johns was doing with Hal at the time. I liked GLC more than I liked most of Johns' Green Lantern because I liked the stories that deal with the Corps as a whole rather than Hal's adventures. It's also the book you want to read if you want great Kyle/Guy/Kilowog stories.

Thanks guys! Regarding Tomasi's run webhead, are you referring to his work on the New 52, or before that?

I was thinking of before the New 52. I would recommend any Green Lantern Corps book after Rebirth and up until Blackest Night. I stopped reading after Blackest Night because it felt like a natural jumping off point. I haven't read many New 52 Green Lantern books, so I can't recommend anything one way or another. I read the first issue of New Guardians and enjoyed it, but I'm a big Kyle fan.

So, continuing with the previous question, what New 52 Green Lantern book would anyone recommend the most? I'm thinking of picking up some trades. Also, would anyone recommend Batgirl?

New Guardians is the only one I'm still reading. I tried Green Lantern Corps for an arc, but its aggressively terrible portrayal of John Stewart made me drop it.

How's Simon Baz? He seemed sort of bland in the zero issue

I would like to read Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis, and Final Crisis, the characters I'm most interested in are Superman and especially Batman. What do I need to read in order to get the best experience and not be completely confused?

Over the past couple of years I've been getting into Superman, and it's shown most recently. I currently own Superman For All Seasons, Death of Superman, All-Star Superman, Last Son, Brainiac, Red Son, and Earth One Vol. 1.

I've been thinking of picking up Superman For Tomorrow, but what I really need are some opinions of older stories, maybe even specific issues. I've clearly got plenty of contemporary stuff (I've also been following the New 52 run from the start), so I'm looking to delve into the more retro side ('Death of' really did that for me).

Any thoughts?

I'm JUST getting back into comics and really interested in the new 52 mainstream titles...

Of the four main Batman titles (Batman, Detective Comics, Dark Knight, and Batman & Robin) - which would you rate the best series and why ? The first issues are SUPER expensive and rare, so I'm going to have to buy the graphic novel of the first issues...

Of the new 52, how would you rate Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Flash, Batwing, Nightwing & Green Arrow ?

The Aquaman one is great, flash is great. I am wondering now that Deathstroke got cancelled if I should read it(new 52) and also the Wonder Woman New 52

New Guardians is definitely the best of the 4 current Lantern titles.

I bought this trade when it was on sale but I don't know if I need any prior reading to it? Does it make for a stand alone read

Been a long time since I've read that, but I think it's standalone. It followed an arc by another creative team, but Winick did his own thing without referencing the previous one (you might want to make sure that's the first trade of Winick's run, though, because I think there's two...)

I haven't been into comics very long and wondering what some
good recommendations are. I've read/started

-Red Robin
-invincible Iron man
-nightwing: traps and trapezes
-teen titans
-young avengers
-avengers v4
-nightwing 1996-2009

I also really like teenage superheroes in general and funny/witty characters

Depends on whether or not you hate that Wally West got tossed out of continuity like the trash.
