Each to their own. I loved the 2009 Star Trek and I'm pretty excited for the new Star Wars

Considering that the "****ing up" he did with ST was really just code for "making it more like Star Wars"... I think this will be just fine.

I liked JJ's Star Trek. In fact, his film made me go back and watch the old shows and films, so God bless him.
BTW: There are some people who didn't like JJ's ST with valid reasons, and then you get stuff like this. Typical fanboy crap who back up their stuff, and often neglects the fact that ST was dead in the water back in the mid 2000's and half of the movies were either average or bad. Like it or not JJ made Star Trek RELEVANT again.

I'm shocked and offended at this comment. Abrams made me like ST and he will knock SW out of the park! He's perfect for it! YOU clearly don't know s**t, sir. Hmph!

I'm sure that would've been a real crowd-pleaser.

If by "****ed up star trek" you mean "made it orgasmic" then yeah I agree wholeheartedly.

Well, JJ Trek was the first Trek I was ever able to get into (not counting Galaxy Quest), and since I've been a Star Wars nerd since 1979 or so, logic holds that JJ Star Wars should be awesome beyond comprehension.
Eat it, trollboy. ![]() Nah, most Trek fans are intelligent enough to at least put forth valid reasons. This guy couldn't even do that. So he's just a basement beast trying to rile people up. And he even ****ed that up lol

Other than not being alive in 1979, I'm the same way. Including Galaxy Quest.

That just might be the most well-delivered line in movie history.

I third Whiskey's recommendation. Every geek should see Galaxy Quest. It's awesome.

Practical effects all the way. They should only use CGI when absolutely necessary. Having model ships is not too much to ask, in my opinion.
The reason the effects in Jurassic Park hold up so well over time is because animatronics and practical effects where used whenever possible. The CGI was only used when the entire dinosaur was on screen. |

After watching the new Star Trek Star Wars Into Darkness trailer, I'm anticipating Episode VII even more.

It does indeed. And I'm not even a big fan of Star Trek.
