Anna has the potential to be a fantastic Rogue given the right material. And even if you didn't like the version of Rogue she was handed, there was nothing wrong with Anna herself.

Maybe, but so far no role I've seen Anna in has convinced me that she is right for the role. She's not a bad actress or anything, I just don't like her in that role. Same with Halle. Fantastic actress, but I just don't like her as Storm. And of course, a big part of the reason is how the characters are written and directed. Even if they're handled better in DOFP, I still wish to see someone else in the roles.

I've seen Anna in True Blood and while I don't really like the show too much, she's much more Rogue-y on that. She can pull it off as long as she's given good stuff to do.

She's literally playing comic Rogue on True Blood

I personally like it. I can see why people would say she seems more Rogue-like on that show. She's showing that she can easily play a Southern belle sex bomb on that show.

For villains, introduce characters that we haven't seen before like Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister

For the X-Men, give Storm and Cyclops a bigger role. Then make Iceman, Colossus, Shadowcat and Rogue really important as the members of the team.

Kind of agree.

Just add the return of Nightcrawler and Gambit, and there you have an epic x-men movie

How did you guys feel about John Carter as Gambit in Origins: Wolverine? I thought he was fine, but it was really the writing that didn't add much spark to Gambit or give him much to do.

Exactly. He didnt belong in that movie, or time period. Casting was good.

He was added late in the game for fan interest.

Origins had a good cast, well all of the X-Men films had/has a good cast. But if the writing/story are poor, it will just downgrade the cast.

Origins: Wolverine was Tom Rothman's magnum opus. Or, magnum crapus.

I liked Kitsch as Gambit. He wasn't given much to do and the fight with Wolverine was more than a little dumb, but I liked Kitsch's take on the character. He was definitely one of the silver linings of that awful movie, I would happily have him back (and Liev as Sabretooth).

he wasn't bad at the time, but he's since become to flavor of the month, to want to see him in the role again anytime soon...

plus him playing the character doesn't really still fit either timeline
(if we ever see gambit again, it'll either be a younger gambit, of a much older gambit)

I think he was a good Gambit. Looked like him, sounded like him HALF the time. His powers were wrong and the movie sucked though. They should bring the same actor back, why not? He was good, Reynolds was good, Schrieber was good...the script was not :/

and since Origins was released on 2009, once Fox decides to bring Gambit back, Taylor will look older compared to that movie, so it will be fine.

And I know many fans wont care about, but watching Anna Paquin and Taylor Kitsch sharing at least a few scenes together would be hot. And a beautiful nod

How are they gonna bring Gambit back into modern times unless they time warp him or some **** in this film? He would be in his late 50s/60s.

two key factors:

- Its fiction, the audience can accept concessions. The actor looked younger on Origins, and he will look older on his next x-men movie, specially if its done on 2016 or later.

- Both Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were part of Origins, so again, if the audience can accept Patrick appearing on Origins, they can accept Taylor appearing on present time, and looking in fact older than his last x-movie.

Its not a big deal, honestly.

He'll look older but 50/60 years old? That's way too old for Kitsch to be playing... and I'd rather have Gambit younger if he's fighting with the X-Men. Origins should just be ignored. Seriously.

I dont really care if they retcon his XMOW appearnace or just flat out ignore it. As everyone wants Gambit back. But Neither of those "key factors" make sense , theres a huge difference in age between your 20s' 30s and 50s/60s.Wolverine doesnt age and I believe they tried to de age Prof X which looked horrible.

you didnt get the point, Im afraid.

Gambit doesnt need to look 50 years old. As long as Taylor plays him, he will look older than Origins, and that should be fine.

Its called a concession. Its not about being 100% realistic. The point is to keep the same actor for continuity and cohesive reasons.

Hugh and Taylor had a great dynamic, and Taylor is a great looking actor, why not to say it, so no need at all to recast the role to make him a 50's years old Remy. That is not needed.

A x-men sequel showing Hugh and Taylor meeting again after all these years as Wolverine and Gambit would be more than worth it. At least to me, and well, to the fans that liked him in the role and Im sure to many females too. Its a hot couple of actors and characters. None cant deny that.

so again, a recast isnt really needed. It would be a really cool return of Remy.
