Yeah, god forbid they start casting wrestlers....we might actually get someone like Andre the Giant in Princess Bride.

Remember what a terrible job Andre did, and how everybody hated it, and how he ruined Princess Bride....?

....No? Oh, right, cuz that didn't happen.

The bar to clear for Andre the Giant was so low he could step over it

Plus that's one example of THOUSANDS in which a wrestler didn't **** things up. It's not good enough for a precedent.

I doubt there has been a thousand movies with wrestlers in them.

I guess there won't be any casting announcements on a Sunday night.

Remember someone on here suggesting Mila Kunis for Gamora; well, you most likely may not get your wish [whoever you are] as she's now reportedly saying that the green make-up she wore in Oz really fubarred her skin, with it taking a whole 2 months to recover.

I dont think she'll be in a mad rush to be painted green anytime before the Oz sequel.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Emilia Clarke were the one to get the role. Then again that would be some major typecasting seeing as Daenerys and Gamora have somewhat of a similar background in terms of their race.

God, I wish people would get over this obsession with height.
Hollywood is chock full of little people that try to pass for 6 feet tall. Illusion --- it's what's for breakfast in the movies.

And what the hell would it matter if they cast a shorty in heroic roles, anyway? There's no ride-height requirement to be a hero --- it's not like riding a damn rollercoaster. Enough with the heightism already.

Agreed. There are some instances where height is a little more appropriate than others but I don't see where it matters for Gamora at all. Kunis would make an awesome warrior/assassin.

why do people always say this

these are freaking super heroes larger than life characters there is nothing wrong with wanting tall actors for heroes

you think hemsworth would look as good if he was 5'9 instead of 6'4

I doubt anybody would be able to notice the difference once the movie was out. Differences in height can dealt with.

Doesn't seem to always work perfectly though. in TDKR, when you see Bane in the sewers, he's a freaking beast and just looks huge. But when he fights Batman, he doesn't look nearly as big or tall.

Like I said previously, probably in this thread, I'm going to disagree with you guys. Height matters. Gamora is going to be played by someone reasonably tall. Even if you don't want to accept it, it. It'll happen.

I'm going to stop touting Kunis but only because I think she is too busy. There is no reason why Gamora needs to be played by a tall actress, none. The difference between being 5'4" and 5'9" is really nothing that can't be overcome with the right boots and camera angles. That said, I do like the suggestion of Katrina Law, though I've never seen her act.
