SoIs Exiles better now that Spider-man 2099 joined the team

I was thinking about getting Exiles now that Spider-man 2099 has joined the team, but i dont want to start from one.Can I start from Spider-man 2099's first Apperance in Exiles and still understand whats going on?

Well, it's possibe he could get killed. Nobodies safe on the Exiles.

Truth is, you don't have to go back to the begining to read Exiles. You could just start at the begining of World Tour or just wait for Clairmont to take over. But, I would highly recommend going back and at least grabbing the trades. Exiles was one of the best comics marvel has put out in the last five years. From the Marvel Heros versus Galactis, to With an Iron Fist. It's just been great.

But the short answer is, no. You don't need to go back to number one.

I always liked Spiderman 2099. Anything that has him in it, in a different series is bound to get some play. It must be mad interesting.

I havent collected comic books in the longest. I think that it sounds like a very revolutionary concept for comic books. I'm definitly liking it.

I'm going to be looking for this series now! It's all in the writing man...

That's a HUGE disconnect if I've ever seen one. Sheesh.

In my opinion, Exiles hasn't been all that good since Judd Winick left the book. Him, Morph, and Nocturne were what I loved about it, and well, with two out of the three gone and Claremont about to take over, I'm not expecting much out of this book.

I'd say go back and stat from the beggining of the World Tour Arc....Or maybe take it one staep back and go with thier House of M arc that kicked off the World Tour.......If you enjoy it. Then I suggest going back and starting from one. The first 70 issues are far better then the recent ones. And the recent ones are still really really good.

Hell I'd settle for Austen.

But yes, Winnick on this book alone made him my favorite writer. Then he went DC Exclusive (It seems to have worked out for him though).....I really like Henry too (He artisted regularely on the series) McKone wrote some of them too.

I just don't want the book to get cencelled....ever.

I did enjoy seeing Spidey in exiles. But he's not really Spiderman 2099. He's not from the same earth as the one we know. and as soon as he leaves his time period, he's written as a peter parker light, which miguel is totally not.

But yeah, Spider-Man 2099 excited me when he showed up in Exiles, until I realized very quickly that it wasn't the Miguel from the Spider-Man 2099 title. I didn't care at all after that, and with World Tour killing off two of my favorite characters, I didn't last long. Maybe 2 or 3 issues into Claremont's run.
