He is in charge of the overall operation...which means he still has a hand in the books. Axel reports to Quesada. He effects the marketing, branding, look, and feel of what Marvel does. What do you think a Chief Creative Officer is?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Quesada's title change was just to reflect that he's creatively involved in the movies as well as the comics at this point. Practically, he still seems to be running the show as much now as he ever was as EiC.

I just got finished reading 0.1. I was absolutely captivated by it! Very pleased, I'm really looking forward to the end of March now!

Actually looks a lot better than I was expecting. Isn't as lite as I thought it would be and I'm glad that Bendis at least mentioned what happened in The Thanos Imperative. Also seems that the next step for the Marvel U is joining the galactic civilization...which, ironically, sounds a hell of a lot like Mass Effect. BUT, it is still an interesting concept in the MU and I'm looking forward to it. At least there is an actual reason for why the Guardians will focus on protecting Earth now. |

So the daddy issues will be a focal point on this book. Ugh.

I'm not sure why Annihilus and some of the other there would agree not to touch Earth...I hope Bendis makes it clear that there's something more going on otherwise it doesn't make sense.

Knowing the GOTG movie is coming out next year, I figure this relaunch is probably tailored for people like me and will be written as a good jumping off point. |

In other news...
http://www.newsarama.com/comics/best...-galaxy-1.html Also... I'm not so much upset that Iron Man is on the team, or even on the team to bring in new readers. I'm upset because there is no logical story reason (so far) for him to be there at all. And that does not work for me. For example, when Spider-Man, Luke Cage etc. joined the (New) Avengers... it was because they came together organically when they showed up and fought well alongside each other during the super villain break out at the raft, and stayed together to track down the escaped inmates. |

Double post city.
Just read the #1 issue. Didn't hate it, but nothing really stood out to me or got me excited just yet. There was a better explanation as to why the Guardians are suddenly completely focused on protecting the earth. I dig Star-Lord's relationship with his dad. I like the leaders of the different alien races in the galaxy coming together to decide that earth is off limits. Iron Man being there still just seems stupid to me and forced as hell but whatever. New costumes and character designs (and hair colors) annoy me to no end. One glaring question I had was... why the hell would the entire team JUMP OUT OF THEIR SPACESHIP (which I assume has adequate shields and weapons) to fight a Badoon warship or whatever it was!!!??? Wouldn't it have made a lot more sense to stay inside their ship (where they would undoubtedly be safer) and fire upon the Badoon ship? It was just extremely odd to me. |

Finally got around to reading the #1. It's not bad per se'...it's just not what I really want out of Guardians. Still going to follow it for the full Marvel NOW experience, hopefully it gets better.
