I think I'm gonna bulk up. See who can bulk up more in the next 3 months, chris pratt or me, the guy who won't have a trainer and will be likely working full time over the next 3 months, :P

Pratt doesn't need to bulk up really, he's always been a naturally fit guy. He just needs to finish cutting all the fat he piled on for that Vince Vaughn movie

I've seen the new 'Star-Lord' outfit from the new 'Marvel Now' series, and while it makes more sense and still has a sci-fi sensibility, it's kinda..generic. Like an alt outfit in Mass Effect. I think Star-Lord looks more 'iconic' with that awesome looking mask. So if Gunn is able to combine this new look with his old pulpy look, I'm down.

I'm still glad Pratt got it. Star-Lord kind of needs to be kind of a character, if you know what I mean. I'm sure Sturgess may have been able to pull it off, but Pratt just looks like the kind of guy who would genuinely have that "wow" mindset seeing raccoons and trees talking.

Pratt's got an everyman vibe, not so much in the vein of Tom Hanks, but more like a funny friend that you'll have drinks with.

Anytime I see him on TV or in a movie, he reminds me of one of my friends. It also makes Pratt seem more..real to me.

Yeah, whether Pratt's playing a complete buffoon or a serious athlete, I find it very easy to relate to him.

Everytime I come to the gotg boards, I see all the threads have been posted in since my last visit, which wasn't long ago. This leads me to hoping/anticipating there is some news, or casting information

Recently Marvel has released several very different versions of him. In GOTG comic alone there have
been two or three versions lately, and now there are different concept art pics, etc. How do you think he
will look? How do you want him to look?

I think thats him with his back to us.

Sort of a Han Solo/Mal of Firefly casual look...

I like pictures 2 and 3 I think as my favorites. maybe like 2 is the lounge wear and 3 is more battle ready or vise versa

or the armor of 2 with the leather stuff and mask of 3.

I think making him blonde would be a terrible idea. I like the costume in the concept art for the film.

I like the dark hair for him too. And his suit in the concept art is the best, imo. Not the newest concept art, but the first art that was released for the movie.

i also like the dual pistols for starlord like in the concept. i noticed that they look like his dad's gun from the new version of gotg. so they might what he uses.

I think he will look like the concept art (thank god). Pratt already has dirty blond hair, they should just keep it like that.

Yeah, the 3rd pic concept art is the best choice really.

The only thing I don't like about the concept art for Quill is the distinct lack of a certain biker helmet.

It's Thorhelmetgate all over again.

Except he needs the helmet to go along with the mask to complete the look.

Meh, the helmet/mask will be off 90% of the time anyway.

Exactly what I was about to say.
I think the reason the comic has him without a mask/helmet now, so often, and why
some of the recent designs do too is because they are considrering the actor getting
face time.

All the Marvel movies seem to give the actor's face time. So I sort of doubt we will get the full
face covering helmet/mask. Maybe the new helmet in the comic (the 5th image. with the helmet
showing his whole face and outlined in a yellow starboldt. The one samsnee reposted.)

Or maybe something like this:

Maybe some do, maybe some don't. But in Spider-Man they said they always wanted to bring it back to Peter.
Make sure the audience was connected to him or something, so he would loose his mask, remove it, etc.
Thor lost his helmet (with the wings) in Thor 1 and has yet to get it back in Avengers or from what I have seen of Thor 2.
For Stark they worked out that while in the suit we can see his face under his helmet. Its a really nice way to
show his face without always having Stark remove his helmet (although he did at the end of Iron Man 1).
In Avengers 1, and Captain America 1, Captain America lost or removed his helmet.
Hawkeye never has a mask like he did in the comics and Black Widow never even had one in the comics.

I just mean I wont be surprised if the Ant Man helmet is designed for seeing more of the actors face.

Of course he would get facetime, that's a given. But I think Cap wore his helmet/cowl more than 10% in TA and Captain America.

I think Quill will be wearing that mask more than some are thinking.

For Iron Man, it's a lot easier for him to keep on the faceplate in these movies, because he has the inner HUD vision.
