It was at the Lexington Comic and Toy con this year. He only charged $25 for autographs. Most people were of course talking about Star Wars, so when I got to him I said that I wished we had got to see his take on Harvey. He said that he would have had fun doing that, but it just didn't work out.

What did you guys think about the Bat symbol in this film?

I always thought it looked really cool, but not as cool as the regular (without the two extra tips) symbol. But I always found it weird and hilarious that the poster and cover art didn't feature the two extra tips

I'm not really a fan of it. It looks weird to me.

I prefer the symbol in BR.

Burton said he wanted the symbol to look more muscular and menacing...

I like it, but it's pretty unnecessary.

Finally got the Prince Batman LP, even has the original packaging sticker advertising the film.

My favorite emblem out of them all. I always liked the two little tips at the bottom. It set it apart from the rest.

Yeah, I was always so confused by it as a kid. Seemed a bit weird to focus so much on the traditional symbol for the advertising but then have him wear a different symbol on his chest.

It is somehow more menacing though, so I'll give credit to Burton there.

I still freakin' love that entire costume... it's really dusty and leathery. I don't know, it's stunning to me.

Yeah it is, especially compared to how sleek and shiny the Returns suit was. It had a very gritty feel to it. I didn't even mind the cowl being a little too big for Keaton either, cause sometimes it kept his eyes in the shadows which was a cool look.

I remember a member here had a Batman 89 emblem shirt. It looked incredible. I was so jealous.

It sort of makes more sense cause those extra tips are suppose to be the bats legs. I feel its a minor change so I dont really feel one way or the other about it. As an interesting sidenote, in the 80s the extra points appeared qiote few times in the comics prior to the movie

Whoever decided on it was right to do so. That ****ing bat symbol was everywhere. A major marketing tool. To put it on Batman in the film would just be really cheesy. "Oh look everybody, it's the bat logo". Yes, a logo, like a corporate logo and not what it's supposed to be.

I like it, it looks old school though. I don't mind seeing it in a comic book soon.

The is one of my favourite features of the '89 suit. Batman was often shot in such a way that the cowl would leave the eye area in shadow, giving him this menacing, mysterious comic book look. I'm almost convinced that the cowl was designed to have this somewhat light-blocking capability in order to better evoke that comic book feel.
