They could just cast Anderson Silva as T'Challa and call it a day.

Lol... there should be a one-hitter-quitter moment against a perceived-to-be-an-even-match opponent just for laughs and uberness.

Also, speaking of physical performers, I also think they should get Sebastian Foucan in on the stunt work, he's a father of Parkour, and was featured in the opening scenes of Casino Royale.

And though he'd love to be the actual BP, I think I'd want to see Michael Jai White as a fight coordinator, assuming he could work well with the parkour guys, which I don't really doubt:

Other off camera roles running through my head:

Producers: Feige, Stan Lee (of course), Reginald Hudlin, maybe Deznel or Forrest in order to get them involved as T'Chaka.

Writers: me and roach, or similar

Cinematographer: Ernest Dickerson... he's been in the director's chair for a few years on TV shows like walking dead, but it might be interesting to have him in this role on a film...

Antoine Fuqua is still rising with his Olympus Has Fallen... he's more and more my favorite director for this project. If he did something with any kind of serious melee combat or superhuman/superhero aspect, he'd be nearly ideal, imho. He's got Africa down (Tears in the Sun), he's got the royal rising stuff down (King Arthur), He's got political action down (Olympus has Fallen), he's just generally well positioned, and relatively consistent and improving (with the possible exception of Brooklyn's Finest).

I approve of Sebastian Foucan as the leaping/ jumping Panther.

I've always thought that Fuqua would be a good choice if they go with a black director. The only thing I'd say with him is that they should get a damn good script writer to go along with him, but I can't think of anyone. If not Fuqua then F. Gary Gray would be good if they just have to go with a black director. Not saying that the director has to be black, but I can imagine them going after one since it would be about the historical first black superhero.

Hmm. BleedingCool pointed out that actor Morris Chestnut tweeted this and posted it on his Facebook:

"It's time to get familiar with the Black Panther character!" Along with this image:

I think a black director is more likely to come with a compelling vision, though there's nothing stopping a white director from doing it outside of an unlikelyness of passion for the character.

Ugh please no to Morris Chestnut. He's probably the most overrated black actor out there. He's completely one note

If this casting actually happens I can see a RDJ situation where everyone is saying how he's one note, washed up, etc and then see actually stills and performances and say he's the best they could have cast.

In Chestnut's defense, he is a successful Black actor in a very racially polarized industry. So being the most overrated Black actor is a bit like being the most overrated Oscar Winner.

What? It's not like that at all

Since when does successful mean good? He's one of the more recognizable black actors in the community but there TONS of better black actors, hence him being overrated.

Except Chestnut was never half as good as RDJ in his best performances.

So who's going to be the first to do a Chestnut manip.

I also hope the Hype adds a BP smiley if and when the day comes.

It kinda is. Successful and black implies a significant baseline skill. Notice how no one's saying he sucks, just, that there are better, incidentally, that's true of everyone. In his case though, there *aren't* tons of other successful black actors, so him being overrated isnt' really much of a slight and certainly doesn't make him underqualified. Even if there were tons, it doesn't matter if there are TONS of better Oscar actors/successful black actors/astronauts/brain surgeons, even if you're the worst successful one (which Chestnut is most certainly not) you're still kind of awesome.

basically saying Chestnut is overrated is like calling someone the shortest giant seeing as there's not an overabundance of successful black actors.

If Marvel is out looking for actors to play Black Panther right now, that means they have plans for him in the near future. I can't see them introducing him in A2, so could he really be set up to have a film in phase 3? I can't see them getting all these films it seems they're planning to out in phase 3 unless A3 isn't coming out until at least 2019.
