unfortunately everyone is going to have to get used to it bc this will continue until they are done making Avengers movies which will be for at least the next few years

And 3 JL titles seems like nothing compared to the number of Xmen and Avengers books that are out there

While I agree that most former big franchises wouldn't work, there are definately some that I think COULD work if done properly; New Warriors being one of them.

I mean, who would have ever thought that a Nova or an Iron Fist book could actually work? Yet, Richard Rider and Danny Rand had two fantastic runs.

The New Warriors have had 3 attempts post-Vol. 1... but look at them. Vol. 2 was a very immature team not showing their level of experience at all. Vol. 3 had the team as a reality show, again, lacking any of the maturity or experience they gained from Vol. 1. Vol. 4 wasn't even the New Warriors at all, but rather Donyell and a bunch of spare X-Students that nobody but me cared about. They had a decent run, but no one really cares about it.

Yet, we wonder why the New Warriors can't get off the ground?!

Give readers a New Warriors book consisting of most or all of the original cast as experienced superheroes taking on true, dangerous threats, and playing them up as the amazing team they should be alongside the likes of X-Men and Avengers.

I mean, Yeah, Nova outgrew the team, but after reaching the maximum potential in Thanos Imperative, he can always downsize a bit to be with his friends... as long as his power and experience isn't forgotten. Justice has stepped up big time as a leader during the Counter Force and Avengers Academy days... have him reflect that. Penance is no longer the bouncy idiot. He's fun, but he's matured. Reflect that. Etc. Take the team that's grown apart and have faced amazing things, grown up, and then put them back together and see how those growth spirts conflict or unite them. Nova, Justice, Speedball, Namorita, Silhouette, and Firestar are all still around. You have Donyell that can fit the Night Thrasher role. Maybe add one or two younger heroes to learn from them like the new Power Man or Reptil and you have yourself a cast.

To be completely honest, if Marvel did a New Warriors book RIGHT, it would be great and likely stable in sales. Give them a decent writer like Waid or Remender. Bring Bagley back on art. It can be done.

But we all know what's coming for the next volume of New Warriors.... A Sam Alexander-led team of teenagers who have no connection to the Warriors, facing nobodies and just trying to discover what being a teenage superhero is all about. It sounds good, but it's been done a thousand times... and it isn't the New Warriors. I'd give it 12 issues.

As much as Marvel is overdoing it with the Avengers and X-Men franchises, I feel like they are actually showing lots of restraint with Spider-Man, which I think is good. There is Superior and Avenging, which never cross over, then Scarlet Spider and Venom, which seem to exist on their own, from what I can tell.

Yeah. I read that in an interview somewhere. People are speculating there might be one or two in the "Phase 2" of Marvel Now.

Hey, the Deadly Foes of Spider-Man

And I think all this talk of New Warriors and Spider-Man has officially shown the level of excitement that the hype has for Avengers A.I.

This milking it sounds about right but now i see worst, just look at the GoG redesigns and here too, normal faces on all but the doom bot, where we could be seeing far weirder designs... I expect that from now on we'll see more and more camera friendly designs of bland super agent costumes.

I hope so. Remender left a lot of room for more to be done with the robot sub-species. I thought it was kind of neat that they had their "race" of Visions, Machine Men, etc.

Anyway, I don't mind that the Avengers franchise is growing. The X-Men franchise has been unbelievably huge for decades now, but no one seems to care. They just choose what they do and don't want to read from it and move on. Why should a huge Avengers franchise be any different? I think it's actually pretty reassuring to know that the Avengers are finally in a place now where they can sustain a huge line of books that are all moderately to hugely successful.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to Avengers AI. The cast looks great. I'm a little concerned that Hank Pym is getting yet another redemption character arc, but hopefully it'll be handled well, at least.

When I read "Avengers AI" my thoughts went like this; "Huh, another Avengers book to ignore."
"Huh... What a lame line up... I'd read it if it was Vison, Danger, Box, and Deathlok Prime... that would a be a cool AI team."
"Time to ignore."

Too many Avengers titles. Just give these groups new names because I can't grasp all these Avengers spin-offs. It seems like any group of heroes can hang out and call themselves an Avenger, like, Avengers: The New Generation or something along those lines.

The Avengers these days are quickly becoming what the DEFENDERS used to be mocked for being - a "non team" with so many short term members that virtually anyone who wore a suit at Marvel from Hawkeye to Hellstorm to Tagak the Leopard Lord is, was, or could be a Defender.

Usually the distinction is so long as a book has one (1) character known for being an Avenger, it's an Avengers book. Spare DEFENDERS or X-MEN books have been justified under such things.

So "Age of Ultron" #10 A.I is really that. It will focus on Hank Pym. It's an examination of his life and history and will reveal some stuff about his background and upbringing that you didn't know before. Hank is clearly a character that Mark has got a lot of love for as witnessed by his recent appearances in "Daredevil."

It will also set the stage for what's going to be going on with Hank and his legacy as we move ahead into the next phase of the Marvel Universe.

Sounds good. The fact that Mark Waid is writing it is great, since I don't really trust Bendis with Hank.

As for the Avengers' expansion, I don't mind it at all. The Avengers have literally always been the central superhero team of the Marvel universe since their founding. The FF were up there, but their priorities shifted more toward exploration and super-science while the Avengers took on the world-saving stuff. So the fact that there are a bunch of Avengers teams kind of makes sense. 7 or 8 people can't be tasked with protecting the entire world. The concept's even been used numerous times in the past, with the West Coast Avengers, Quasar's space team, the satellite teams when the Avengers were recognized by the UN, etc. They just didn't follow each of those teams with their own comics back then; now they do. As with any big franchise, you pick the ones you like and ignore the rest. It's not that big a deal.
