I'm not baiting anything, so why insinuate that? I'm saying what I think, and I honestly think that would be the case. Anyone who responds with hostility has a mistaken motive. Personally, I think Marvel gets slack from time to time. Something like this, no matter how well done, is taking a dump on the true Mandarin character.

I'm allowed to say that, it's not like I said the studio sucked or some other studio was better. If I think something is wrong I deserve to express it because I am a fan.

Those things get held against the studio, rightly or wrongly, and while First Class was a step in the right direction, it hasn't washed out the stain of past blunders.
You're overthinking it. Look at it as Iron Man not being in one big Marvel universe and just being owned by Fox like the X-Men.

I'm still gunna go ahead and say that the whole "have to see it multiple times thing" plays a role in this whole killian mandarin thing. there's got to be more to it than that I bet

Can no one answer this? Does no one know?
Mandarin is still Mandarin, its just that he's a "pawn" of the "real" villain, Killian.

Thanks for clearing that up. Although, to be honest, I'd almost rather have the other option I mentioned. Though neither option is that exciting to me. Oh well.

The big twist that everyone isn't getting:

Guys you are reading too much into it. The twist that people are talking about is that Killian is the true mastermind to the Mandarin.

So .. so far our Mandarin is..

1. Doesn't have powerful rings
2. Isn't really the main villain.

Kinda disappointing but whatever, I'm still going to watch this movie.

Pretty much. I find it kinda underwhelming.

I'm sure the movie will still be awesome, but I'm not a big fan of this twist.

He DOESNT have magic rings in some form or another ? Disappointing.

Marvel should learn how to Nolanize things if it's too 'out there' for them. I'm sure they could've thunk of something.

If the aforementioned Mandarin angle is true, it reminds me a lot of a recent superhero blockbuster where the lead was revealed to be working beneath someone else.

Again, context will provide the proper shading.

My question to those who have seen it: do those involved with AIM have the signature suits?

Personally, I can accept this "twist" if the junior novelization was accurate that

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
The Mandarin gets away at the end, and IM3 serves primarily as set-up for the final battle between Stark and the Mandarin in a hypothetical IM4.

Unless they changed that for the final film.

Speaking of the plotline from the novelization, I hope to see Justin Hammer in a future installment. While watching IM2, I kept waiting for him to crumble and launch a bloody revenge campaign against Stark for trashing his life, but was disappointed.

Please don't attempt to insult peoples' intelligences with that kind of nonsense. Regardless of your "certified carefree" status in life, other people's opinions of the matter are valid (minus anything on the level of Echostation ) as it is a matter of personal taste. Insinuating they're complaining just to complain is a farce.

I'll make sure to bookmark your comment so that everytime I see you not like something, I can remind you.

To be fair, I do recall a precedent with the Avengers, where the children's adaptations of it omitted certain scenes.

sorry if you took it a certain way Rock, but I didn't have any intention of insulting peoples' intelligences or demeaning someone in any way. I respect others opinions and hope they do the same for me, I enjoy being involved and reading intelligent conversations on different sides of the road. But I think in most cases people need to have an open mind when things come out before the final product is released, after that comment away on what he/she generally disliked about the final product.

And I don't think you'll need to go back to that bookmark very much because as you so aptly named me "Mr. Carefree" I keep a very open mind with these films, I accept each scenario that comes out and hold my opinions until after I see the film. I don't have certain ways I want to see something be portrayed already stuck in my head, so each time I see a new theory or an idea another person has I like to play around with the idea and think about how it could end up.

Again, I apologize if you felt I was demeaning to anyone, yourself included, as that was not my point. I just think people should keep an open mind and wait to criticize.

It's alright. Just keep in mind, when you go to a movie that is an original screen play it's much easier for the viewer to have an open mind. But with these Marvel movies, we're talking about elements that have decades worth of history. Now I'm not one to propose "everything" be a direct translation (Ex. I'm cool with the Iron Patriot of the MCU), but it varies from person to person what they valued most about the character and what they want to see brought to the screen.

I've just accepted that the MCU and the Marvel Comic Universe are essentially two different things. They adapt elements for costume changes (Cap2 costume) and Characters (IP suit but no Norman) and use them in ways that they feel fit the Cinematic Universe better. I'm not saying that everyone else has to have that belief as well, but it wouldn't hurt lol. That's why I go into these movies with an open mind, and when they announce something different I don't get upset.
