Well. That was awesome.

When you said all footage from the trailers, then I saw the only 2:00min runtime I thought... "How?"

Nice editing, loved the music and Zod's threat being incorporated.

I shoot the image right onto my wall. I know the quality would be improved with the screen, but I don't want to:

1.) spend money on a screen
2.) install a permanent screen; I hang photo frames on the wall with small nails when projector is off
3.) go with a smaller screen; I like the flexibility (large/small/4:3/16:9/cinemascope

That's kind of like getting a really good audio amplifier...but connecting little computer speakers to them.

Yeah have come across similar issues. Will get one one day but maybe in a new house. Also PM box now free.

It's a bit different when you're using a projection system in a less than ideal environment. Depending on your furniture configuration and wall decor you might have to sacrifice significant screen size by going with a screen. Without you can use the whole wall from floor to ceiling and although some intrusive objects might get in the way and ruin part of the picture you still have a cinema like screen (and still of good quality depending on whether you have painted walls/wallpaper & the texture/uniformity of it)

A good TV might be a better choice for the space, then. It's not like people buy tickets to go see movies screened in the home decor part of a department store.

If they combined the home decor part of a department store (with a little rearrangement from me) with a top of the range home cinema setup I'm sure people would pay for it.

I've got a 60 inch TV in the same room in the corner and the comparison is quite pathetic. The screen size when on the wall is 9 times as big as a 50 inch TV (3 times as wide & 3 times as high). So his boots might be hidden by unfortunate obstacles but otherwise it's an almost life size Man of Steel baby!

Lingerie section.....I would go.

But regarding 'screen size'....it's not quite the size that counts. It's got to comfortably be within you field of view and have a certain 'response' to the light that only projector screen paint really offers....i.e. quality, which is where a really good LCD or plasma can give you over and house wall. It kinda defeats half the purpose of a good projector without a proper screen. But there are smaller speakers of matter design and manufacture that will give you a better representation of the recording.

So what I said before about the little computer speakers aren't quite right...it's more like just getting speakers with large cones...but not necessarily good speakers with good crossovers or construction....just put in a corner. You'll maybe get a lot of volume and some boomy/sloppy badd...if that's what you're after.

Nothing stopping you going to the lingerie section right now mate if you want, film or no film!

I agree on all that stuff on screen quality & I will be getting a projector screen one day. But at the moment to fit it between furniture I'd lose about 50 inches from the screen diagonal taking it down from the surface area of 9 50 inch TVs to just 4. That (ridiculous) reduction in size outweighs the better picture to me, especially as the picture quality is pretty great on my wall from the viewing area 20 feet away.

I have a good TV (Panasonic plasma) in the family room for everyday use.

The projector is in the living room. I don't have a dedicated space like a basement or garage for this.

Also, it's just not a white paint on the wall. I did a coat or two of primer, a couple coats of Behr Silver Screen mixed with Minwax Clear Satin Polycrylic (to add some reflectiveness).

For Superbowl, we had the plasma going in one room and the projector in another. Nobody was watching the plasma... projector room filled...! LOL

It's funny you mention the audio part of it. I am using a 10+ year old 5.1 system designed for console gaming..was only 100 bucks when I got it during my college days around 2001 or so.

It still works and has pretty good bass. Only using it as a 2.1 setup though because I'm not a fan of running wires throughout the room.

Note: I'm married; can't have it my way or the highway... it's a compromise

Yep, that's always tough unless your spouse is an A/V nut as well. Really tough to get nice speakers when the have to be 'decor approved', or completely hidden.

And yeah, when the Tv isn't on, at least here isn't a big TV just sitting there...for those who don't like that. Maybe save up down the line and get a nice retractable screen or something.
