Granted, they do talk a lot about Loki's looks. However all the other boards I just searched talk mainly about power displays/story/character.

Wow a whole 2 pages. Look in this very thread and you'll see 4 times as many pages of people talking about Cap's looks. That's ALL there is to talk about at the moment. When set pics are released that don't reveal any kind of scene details, people talk about the way the characters look. Especially if the character looks differently than they did in the past. That's all there is to it. When that photo of Chris Evans on set was released, what did we talk about? The way he looks. What are people talking about right now regarding Loki in the Thor 2 trailer? The way he looks. Don't come in here telling us to stop talking about the only thing that matters at the moment.

I'm not denying people talk a lot about looks of men here. However, the only thing talked about on women super heroes is their looks. You cannot deny the sexism in the comic books industry. Look at this blog:

also Hawk, if you don't like the sexism in comics, then don't read comics. Sex is in everything it's a natural human expression and also happens to decently sell product to some people.

Was Chris at the Iron Man 3 premiere? I've only seen pictures of Stan, Atwell, and Van Camp.

I didn't see him but I didn't come in until about 20 minutes. I thought some of the other stars from TA were supposed to be there (Ruffalo, Renner, Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Gregg, or SLJ) but they didn't do any interviews with Marvel's reporters so hard to tell if they were there or not. Only non-IM3 people I caught interviews of after 6:20 PDT were Cobie Smulders and Jamie Alexander.

Edit: Can confirm Hiddleston and Hemsworth were there.

I didn't deny sexism in the comic book industry, I said nobody HERE is being sexist. We're talking about Black Widow's looks because we have a reason too.

I don't get what was everyone's problems with Cobie's acting.

She didn't have a lot to work with, or do.

Yeah, I didn't see a problem with her. It'll be good to see her have more to do in this movie.

did you think the alternate opening on the avengers dvd had good acting by her?

that's an example of her having more to work with and doing a bad job imo. it was awkward to watch, all her emotions seemed so forced.

My two cents: discussion of the actor's body in context of a film does not equate to sexism. I've read the past few pages and the only concerns are about two actors in the film-Evans and Johansson-looking malnourished. That is not sexism, but part of a discussion of the components of a film: the image that the actors crafted and how it will operate in context of the film.

Sexism exists in all mediums and sites. One of the reasons I have not logged into my Tumblr account for months is because I became quite tired of the misandry and resultant hypocrisy: memes such as the Hawkeye Initiative fed the huge fire of male hate, yet posters who contributed to it also reblogged nude photographs or the Marvel Studios actors, close-ups of their genitals or ass, or .GIF sets, such as the amusing one at the top of this page.

The problem of sexism is a two way street. While the majority of it is male-created (due to the power they have in society,) the remaining element is considerably potent, considering it feeds into misandry, most of the time.

In context of these boards, it's everywhere: one cannot go to the Thor boards without encountering Hiddleston's female fan base. Conversely, there are discussions about the female's sexual image on these boards (such as the size of Emma Stone's breasts, back during the ASM days. ) Both sides are guilty of sexualizing performers, to some degree.

Everyone needs to chill out. Between this and the perceived Im3 debacle, I am surprised the forum has not exploded.

While I haven't had the misfortune of seeing this unused clip I can only judge what was used and she didn't do anything in that for me to warrant the negative criticism I see some on here give her. For the most part scenes or takes that don't make the final cut are usually due to an actor's poor delivery or "acting". We usually don't get the benefit or in this case the misfortune of seeing these from other actors because they're usually not included in the extra features of dvd's or blurays.

That ass-jiggle gif exists, and men are the sexist ones?
I agree the comic companies tend to market more to the males, often pushing it too far with the weird female poses
but its easy to see just as much talk and ogling over people's bodies coming from both sides of fandom.
