I agree that baseball is not as strong as it once was but April is a real tough month to kick off a league's season with the Masters, NFL draft and NBA playoffs all going on at the same time. The weather has been awful this April across the entire country too. There were a ton of postponements and critics are blaming the new year round interleague schedule for where some of the teams have had to go early on.

Yeah, this has definitely been a strange April. I mean I can get the whole April showers thing, but there have been several games postponed because of snow, which I've seen before but not as much. I just don't understand why they can't schedule more of the earlier games in Southern and Western states where the weather tends to be warmer. I know they can't fully predict the weather and want to give every team some games at home, but if that's the case, why not push the season ahead a couple of weeks?

Yes! I forgot to mention it but I love this show. I just hate how its always getting kicked off the air in favor of one of the several hundred other NFL or college Sports shows. I love me some Papi.

I just heard about this yesterday morning on the radio, but I haven't really seen any video. What exactly is the problem?

The way I understand it, he puts rosin on his forearm and wets down his hair to slick it back. The water mixes with the rosin and gets all over the ball. He freely admits to it from what I've heard but MLB has done nothing. Until they step in and say something there's nothing, there's not much to do.

Also heard its not uncommon for pitchers to do this and that Bucholtz does this regularly. Doesn't make sense for this to be brought up as a problem now. Plus no one on the Blue Jays challenged it during the game.

Yeah that's what heard, but like Liam said, I also heard its not uncommon. I think I heard someone say it looked a bit fishy because his arm was glistening, which gives off the appearance of there being something more there.

Same here. I also heard one argument that its only an issue now because he's winning and people always want to point to something as being the reason for it. Last year when he was losing no one cared.

He wasn't doing it last year. Harold Reynolds did a fantastic piece on the situation. The glistening on the arm didn't start till this season. It's definitely not sweet either because the throwing arm has none and during spring training in 80 degree weather there isn't glistening on his arm. There's something else on his arm. Also Dennis Eckersley had been a huge douche over the situation. Lost a lot of respect for him

Wasn't his hair much shorter last season though? If he wets it down now and it hangs out the sides and bottom of his cap it's gonna drip all over the place...

I'll have to check that Reynolds piece though, I've always been a fan of his dating back to his Baseball Tonight days.

I just love the fact that the Giants swept the Dodgers this week, so much for their vaunted lineup....pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

Dodgers seriously need to get it together. They get 10-15 guys on base every single game and score 1 or 2 runs.

The pitching is excellent. But, man, Dodger hitters not named Adrian Gonzalez just fade in pressure situations.

Every game they've played against SF all season has basically been a one run game...but losing is still losing.

Watching the Dodgers fade into oblivion just brings a smile to my face.

MLB once again suffers from incompetent umpires.

Yeah he made a bad call but ya know what this happens all the time in every sport especially football since they too have instant replay rules. They screw up calls constantly but are never attacked. Baseball an ump screws up one call and all we hear are get instant replay, get with the times. And now they screw up once using it and all we hear is that instant replay is broken, give the win to the A's, fire the ump. Everyone makes mistakes and instant replay only helps so much. I'm so sick and tired of people attacking the MLB and not the NFL or the NHL or the NBA. Especially the latter too since they miss calls constantly and nothing happens, no controversy, no nothing. NFL they screw up calls just about every play, they get instant replay challenges wrong constantly but nope nothing except for obviously the Seahawks/Packers game last year.

Yeah, I just heard about the ruling. I can't help but feel like it would have been changed had the score not been so close. But that ruling on the field pretty much cost the A's the game.

The ruling on the field or the ruling afterwards?

If its true the umpires don't get the same replay angles as we see on TV then the system is quite broken.

There should be no replay in baseball. There, I said it.

Angel Hernandez is the single worst umpire MLB has. Why he's still employed by them I'll never understand....
