Vikings draft a punter because they were tired of Chris Kluwe running his mouth.

For the sake of Bills fans, lets hope that their latest first round QB EJ Manuel is better than JP "Worst QB in the 2004 NFL Draft" Losman.

The Niners are built for long term competitiveness. Their biggest question mark will be trying to replace the production of Frank Gore and Justin Smith as they move into the twilights of their careers. Most of the team is young and/or in their prime years. But I'll agree that the NFCW is going to be extremely competitive in the coming years.

I disagree. They have a lot of young talent, but they aren't going to be able to maintain this year's team for long. Too many big contracts. Once Kaepernick gets paid (which will probably be next year), they will have to make some tough choices and let go of some key parts of the team.

On top of that, the two players he mentioned Gore and Smith are HUGE holes that need filling when they finish up.

I'm kinda giddy about how we (The Panthers) drafted. We're set at DL and LB for years to come. Star will hopefully be our Ngata and Short will be our Atkins. In retrospect, our draft wasn't sexy but the future seems bright for our defense. Build from the front and modify the back later.

We also got our Sproles.

My Chargers, on the other hand, drafted poorly.

This move also helps Kuechly, Beason and Davis. Luke literally had to play DT last year so him being able to roam free could be extremely deadly for opposing offenses.

I wanted Cyprien or Taylor myself but our front seven could very well compensate for our secondary the same way The Raven and 49er front seven did last year.
I think in the end, most fans will be pleased with the draft. I just hope this defense can hold it together this year. The first 4 weeks they need to make a statement. If that happens, then it will relieve some of the pressure off Cam to not do so much with the ball.

My only concern heading into the season is the our DB's and running back situation.

In my completely naive view of what is and isn't a good draft, I feel like Cincinnati had a really good draft this season. Once everything was laid out and I researched the players they picked, I just really like what I'm looking at.

I'm still holding that the season after next will be a big year for us, but I'm eager to see what happens this coming year and who of these people make the roster.

I think Barner will compete for a STs position and receive several snaps as a scatback this year (third downs; read option packages). So there won't be a RB controversy initially, but who knows for 2014?

Our secondary should do fine. Dockery, Thomas and Campbell played surprisingly solid for UDFAs and late round draft picks. If we can keep QBs like Matt Ryan and Drew Brees uncomfortable in the pocket then we're good.

As long as Shula doesn't constrict Cam, and Newton doesn't try to be Superman by himself, we could see a big year from Cam.

Being a Browns fan, I'm not too happy with their draft. All project players.

Hey, sorry, hadn't checked this thread in a while.

My analysis?

It doesn't matter who they picked because they're the Jaguars. Every one of those players is doomed to an NFL career chock full of irrelevance unless they get traded to another team.

Hell, even if they get cut and wind up in the CFL or some arena league that won't last three years, they'd STILL be more relevant than if they stayed with the Jaguars.

That is, until the Jaguars move to L.A. Just pull the damned trigger already.

Doesn't look good for a LA stadium.

I hate to say this as well but, as much as I like the Jags....& I really do, they're pretty much irrelevant in the NFL. I suppose it's because of the city or region they're in & perhaps a relocation to somewhere else might remedy the situation.

Jacksonville will only become relevant once they so happen to get their definitive coach. A Cowher, a Peyton, or another Coughlin. It all starts from there. Then they need a GM who will make wise draft and free agent choices. Then from there, a quarterback to build around. Then the ball gets rolling from there.

Of course, that s*** ain't happening.

Hey, you never know. Maybe Blaine Gabbert will have a breakout year.

I can't even type that with a straight face, lol.

Wait a minute now. Before hell freezes over, the Jaguars will do one of two things:

1. Move to a new city

Don't give them too much credit.
