Yeah.
If it happens, it'll be stupid. I doubt the Winter Soldier, spending decades doing all sorts of superspy fighting, never got a blow to the head. At a guess, I'd say that seeing Steve again might make him start remembering things. Or maybe not. Maybe they just capture him and SHIELD has psychiatrists de-brainwash him. |

Are you talking comic books, or movies? Because comic book HYDRA and Red Skull practically worship Nazi racial ideology. If HYDRA is reborn in the MCU, or has continued to exist in "sleeper cells" since WWII, I'd think that their original ideology would be the motivating factor for bringing them into the 21st century.

Well they handled the Narnia movies pretty well, the first one anyway, but the second wasn't too bad either (Haven't seen Voyage yet). Based on those films I can understand why Marvel got them. The films they've written have all been very well structured.

If they keep that look in the concept art, then the domino mask *is* definitely there, beneath his goggles.
Also, since they keep the red star on his bionic arm, I'm thinking that it's becoming a lot clearer that they're sticking to the comics as far as WS' handlers --- i.e., (former) Soviets.

Are we sure he has a domino mask underneath? I keep thinking it's just a part of his goggles.

I'm thinking it's the rims of his cool-as-heck goggles, not his domino mask.

The Winter Soldier looks awesome but I'm surprised they haven't cast General Lukin. I would have thought he would be a pretty important character to include, way more than Crossbones or whatever. Maybe they just haven't announced it yet or they're keeping it a secret?
Or maybe they're worried a character like that might offend the Russians. Kind of a shame because I don't really see the Winter Soldier, Crossbones or Batroc as major puppeteers type villains, more like goons.

![]() The rims are plainly visible there as silver/white/metallic. Then there's black, that extends up into diamond points *beneath* that....like a domino mask. Y'know --- the domino mask from the comic book?

On the other hand, I do wonder if Alexander Lukin is going to turn out to be the true identity of Alexander Pierce. Perhaps Lukin spent decades as an agent of SHIELD while secretly having an agenda of his own. |

They'll be shooting the Teddy Roosevelt bridge in D.C. on Sunday. Sounds like it will probably just be aerial shots.

I like the look. Looks exactly like the winter soldier I know, but with a mask. So I'm actually cool with it

I hope we get a shout out to the original Winter Soldier comic story with the "Who the hell is Bucky?" line.

I'm actually wondering though on how they'll present Winter Soldier being someone that can go toe to toe with Rogers since I don't think Bucky was given anything special that gave him the same type of physical attributes that Steve got from the SS and that alone makes Roger stronger than most regular human beings.

I was thinking the silver part was the rigid frame, and the black was a soft rubber cup around the edge. Like swimming goggles have.

Holy crap. That's a genius idea. Could also explain why there hasn't been a real "frontrunner" for WS' puppet master. And given Marvel Studios' propensity for hiring Oscar-caliber actors for their villains, Redford makes a lot of sense.
