Are you serious? Now the Prestige makes Jonathan Nolan better than Goyer? not all of Goyer´s work is top notch, but I think you are discarding amazing Goyer stuff just because of the Prestige.

The Prestige was an awesome movie, and could have been epic, but the cloning thing really ungrounded the whole movie.

Compare Goyer's screenplays Vs Jon's...

Goyer is a perfectionist... Take the Dark Knight. Is almost perfect and logical in every sense. He will hardly give material to find mistakes/flaws. And you ACTUALLY FEEL it on The Dark Knight. It FEELS REAL.

I believe everyone will agree that TDKR is the weakest link from the trilogy.

And dont get me wrong, it is an amazing movie, but Chris made us get used to perfection.

Dude, Goyer didn't write The Dark Knight. Jonah did based off a story by Chris and Goyer. Same exact thing for Rises.

What you should be saying is look at Batman Begins (written by Goyer) compared to The Dark Knight.

And no, nobody will agree on anything regarding TDKR. There's a lot of differing opinions out there on it.

"I can't believe my name is on a movie this good"- David Goyer on The Dark Knight. That's a real quote.

Um...Jonah wrote the Dark Knight. Goyer outlined the story. Thanks for highlighting why Jonah is good by the way.

Goyer has only written one film of the trilogy(Batman Begins). He's worked on the story for all three films, but he's only written BB. And besides writing BB...the only great screenplays from him are Blade and Blade II(and Kickboxer 2 for me, but that's because it's a guilty pleasure of mine).

Bringing up TDK and how it's almost perfect though...you've just given Jonathan Nolan some credit

even if Goyer single handedly wrote TDK (which he didn't; Jonah did), Jonah would still come out on top because the Prestige's screenplay mops the floor with any in the TDK trilogy.

Silver Linings Playbook was a GREAT film. Makes me really wish Cooper were The Crow in its reboot and as Lucifer in Paradise Lost.

I was curious about DVD sales for TDKR since so many claimed its box office was hurt by the Aurora shootings. I made comparisons to The Avengers box office and DVD sales to see if there was any difference:

Avengers:
DVD-$91,048,949
Domestic-$623,279,547
OS-$891,000,000
WW-$1,514,279,547

TDKR:
DVD-$63,963,367 (70%)
Domestic-$448,139,099 (72%)
OS-$631,204,844 (71%)
WW-$1,079,343,943 (71%)

TDKR actually performed slightly worse on home video where there could not be an "Aurora effect". Like so many other things the media hypes, there really isn't any evidence to back that up. Apparently, there was 30% less interest in seeing TDKR no matter what the situation (foreign, domestic, or DVD)

That's what happens when your film is appropriate for kids 6 and under in addition to having mass appeal for all ages.

That's not a knock on Avengers, but that's just part of the reality there. Little kids weren't gonna find TDKR in their stockings last December (unless they had really cool parents )

They studios only made that from dvds? I thought they got a little more.

Or does that not include blu rays ?

90-60 million doesn't sound a lot to these sort of projects. Something looks wrong with those numbers.

The ones worthy of watching? That includes Forever and B&R as well because they fit a specific era of Batman that Schumacher was trying to hit, and he did, even if it doesn't feel the same like Burton's duology.

Plus, agree with Brain Damage...needs Mask of the Phantasm, and personally, I'd also add SubZero, Under the Red Hood and The Dark Knight Returns duology.

Because Forever and B&R don't qualify as "films."

And they're probably only looking for Live Action films.

If Batman '66 is there then Forever & B&R should be there as well.

But yeah also, they were clearly going for live action but didn't feel like saying it out loud since I'm sure people didn't need to be walked through what a movie theater puts out when talking about animated straight to video releases, no matter how good they are.

Forever and B&R should be in there since 66 one is there.

End of the day you like them or not, they're Batman films.
