The chance to turn it around is always there but starting badly is still a negative as it was for all those mentioned consoles. The 360 & PS3 issues were different though for eg pricing & faulty manufacture rather than worries over long term demand (which for the wii U is at least slightly linked to having non-futureproofed technology). The PS3 could have solved it's problems straightaway by changing its price to a sensible one. And Microsoft still wasn't a huge player in the market but they had great 3rd party support building over this early period while the wii U is almost burning that bridge completely.

I think those games coming out will make the situation much better for current wii U owners and eventually justify their purchase. But if the games comes during the next gen launches they might not guarantee enough new hardware sales to keep the system's long term prospects looking good.

I think as long as Nintendo starts releasing some Nintendo games, the Nintendo fans that are hesitant to purchase the Wii U will come around. Nintendo is never gonna take a bite out of the PS or Xbox demographics, and they'd be stupid to try.

Game and Wario comes out next month. I'm saving some Amazon store credit for it. Looks fun and I don't see anything else to play for the Wii U.

Yeah, tomorrow there's a Nintendo Direct. They're supposed to discuss spring and summer software releases for 3DS and Wii U. I'm assuming we'll get release dates for New Super Luigi U and Mario Golf. I also wouldn't be surprised if there are a few more Virtual Console titles announced.

Nintendo hosted a short Nintendo Direct presentation this morning, and made some cool announcements about the Wii U and 3DS. The gaming giant won't have a big presence at E3 this year, so we gaming journalists are out of luck, but that doesn't mean normal gamers have been forgotten

Nintendo And Sega Enter Exclusive Partnership For Sonic: Lost World. May 17, 2013 . 7:09am

The next Sonic game will be exclusive to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS as a result of a worldwide partnership between Nintendo and Sega.

source: siliconera.

With the state most of their sales have been in overall, I'm not surprised. but they'll still be called sega as a studio. at least and they done alot of cross overs already with sonic and mario.

Sega may as well just bite the bullet and let Nintendo swallow them up. It would definitely help both parties.

I remember saying that at one time but even if Nintendo does that in a way, they will still let them be called Sega. Any way it still kinda supports what I said about their financial state though.

Nice. Would have loved to see Sonic on Nintendo in the SNES era. Not possible of course but would have been huge!

Who here is getting New Super Luigi U? I'm waiting for the physical release because I'm building a Nintendo collection and I dig the physical release. A $10 isn't too big a deal to me.
