Wait...wait...what?

When was it revealed or hinted that Sandor might still be alive? I know they strongly hinted Gregor might still be alive due to the tinkering of the shady Maester, but I don't remember anything about Sandor.

IIRC in Feast for Crows Brienne stops by the place where Sandor is buried and there's some mention of a brand new gravedigger that showed up with some clues to his identity--a scarf covering his face, an injury in the same place as Clegane's, the Elder monk at the place seeming to know a lot more about him than he would otherwise--and it's widely theorized that Sandor is the gravedigger.

Hmmm. Interesting. I didn't catch that the first time I read it, but it would make sense. I didn't think GRR would have built up the Clegane rivalry just to have them both die by other causes.

It's because it's in those damn Brienne chapters. Buncha meandering all over Westeros with no hope of finding any Stark child.
But that definitely threw me at first, because I caught the Gregor =?= Rob Strong bit at first but not Sandor =?= gravedigger, and it confused me why he'd bring back one Clegane brother but not the other.

Kind of crazy that he foreshadowed that all the way back in book 2. That was, what, at least a decade prior?

The Year is 2416

The robobrain remnant of George R. R. Martin finally uploads A Dream of Spring to the worldwide telepathic communication web.

Monthly Data Packet "The New New Yorker" opines that it is too short. Books have long exceeded 5,000,000 words owing to cyborg implants which allow the human brain to process information a thousand times more quickly. At a breezy 1,345,000 words, A Dream of Spring is considered not much more than a novella.

I have a question:

I was told there is going to be a battle even bigger than Blackwater. In what book is this happening, and can someone give me more details?

It happens towards the end of A Storm of Swords, so it will probably be Episode 9 next season. It occurs at the Wall.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
The Wildlings attack the Wall. Stannis' troops land north of the Wall mid-battle to help the Night's Watch and force the Wildlings to retreat.

That doesn't sound anywhere near as epic as Blackwater.

Wont there be a battle with the Dragons?

It actually sounds quite grand in scale to me, i heard Jon was almost alone defending the wall, is that true? I did think they would be defending the wall from undead creatures and Walkers

The Night's Watch roster has been severely hamstrung with what happened at Craster's Keep, but there's still some men left. Not a lot of really good fighting men...

Sam gets escorted to the wall by Coldhands, who then goes to help Bran find the three-eyed raven. Jon really doesn't get any magical assistance outside of a glammer Melisandre conjurs. (That I remember, anyway. Certainly not any White Walker/wight assistance)

This thread doesn't seem like one that would need to spoiler tag this but I'll do so anyway since the poster that answered your first question did.
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
It's the entire wildling army, which is large and also has giants and mammoths. They are besieging the Wall, which is quite a lot grander than the city walls of King's Landing. There's certainly possibilities to make it grander than Blackwater on the show. In the books I'd say that it's the other way around, but the battle of Blackwater Bay is grander in the book (not much budget or time problems when writing a book).

When it comes to dragons, they aren't that large yet. They keep growing but Dany isn't on the express train to Westeros.

What's the nature of those giants--are they really giants, or simply overly large humans? Would Drogon be immune to warging by Bran? The show hasn't set up any rules about warging.

Giants are too large to be humans and they look (and are) more primitive (they were a bit more human-like in the show). We can just speculate as to how they relate to humans. There's people saying that extremely large people have giant's blood in them, but nothing really indicates that it's anything other than a saying.

The limits of warging, and the nature of dragons, aren't made very clear in the books eithier and it's probably best to keep the mystic of such things.

Actually I remember GRRM has been asked about that very thing (warging a Dragon). He said something to the effect of "that would be telling".
Re: the Dragons and Dany. The books take the logical approach with that story. The opening scene for Dany of season 2 is very telling when she says "They didn't know much about Dragons."
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
They prove to be a bit hard to handle as they get bigger. Also Dany's "crusade" is taking on a life of it's own if you haven't noticed.

My prediction is that
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
one or two of the dragons will be stolen by Victarion. Thus leading Dany to take her one remaining dragon over to Westeros to try and get them back.

It's been posted in the GOT thread, but...

Game of Thrones Team On Series Future

GRRM sounds pretty confident the series won't pass the books. It'd be nice if he'd at least give us a date.

I'm going to predict that we'll see the new book sometime next year. At his reading I went to he didn't actually say it but he kind of indicated that it was going "smoother" (so far) than Dance. Keep in mind A Storm of Swords was released about 2 1/2 years after A Clash of Kings and that was the longest book.

If Jon is dead or warged into Ghost for his second life, I'm really going to have a hard time getting through the rest of the series. Even if Jon is alive, I'll be disappointed if he doesn't have any POV chapters.

The idea of Dany deciding to stay in Essos is interesting though.

Yeah, it would be a let down if he went down like that without his mother's mistery revealed

I'm on the first Bran chapter where he dreams of the three eyed crow. There's a brief mention of Bran seeing dragons awakening on Asshai. Maybe we will get to see Asshai before the series ends?
