I've always liked the Alex Ross suit. I think it could work for something with a similar aesthetic to Sky Captain.

I doubt the reboot will go that route, so I don't think it'll work.

Alex Ross has great art but the suits themselves if made real or simply drawn by other artists wouldn't look special.

This is Ross superman made 3D.

Doesn't look as good in real life.

I dunno. That'd be pretty goddamn sweet to see in real life, though that may just be me.

Why, are you trying to solicit someone of a certain age?

Alex Ross' designs would be perfect for films set in the 1930s-50s trying to create a more vintage look. Great designs of beloved characters, for sure, but how sweet would Henry Cavill look in that outfit for MOS? I just cannot picture designs like that working in a mordern-day interpretation of Batman. Not because I'm "close-minded", but rather, because I'm just being logical.

Press Release shows more details on the Arkham Origins Suit

Quote:
The great thing about video games these days is you get to reach out and touch the characters. And DC Collectibles knows it. Given the popularity of the “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” “Batman: Arkham City” and “Injustice: Gods Among Us” action-figure lines, the company is rolling out two new series this fall – and Post Game Report has the exclusive, first look.
Closest to my heart (and wallet) are action figures from the hotly anticipated “Batman: Arkham Origins” video game. Batman gets a whole new outfit in the prequel and we get the frightening and dapper Black Mask to boot. They’re due out in October and will be in the typical 6.75” scale. They’ll be about 25 clams each.

I think the Origins suit is the right direction. I think his body proportions are still not to my liking. He should be big but slim enough to look like he can move fast. Batman should look just like brute strength. I think tone down the texture on that Origins suit and it's pretty great. I like the lack of armor where the trunks would be giving the same impression of him having the trunks on.

This.
I'm 23 and love the classic suits.

What an absurd thing to assume.

I respect everyone & their opinion but I like 'Ross' Batman suit and maybe it won't work on a live-action but I would love to see it on animated movie.

I guess Origins charts Batman's odyssey of going from a 300 pound guy to a 220 pound one as he learns the trials and tribulations of a rapidly fragile gas tank....the hard way.

Something like rubber or sculpted leather is probably inevitable in the cowl. That doesn't mean it has to be used throughout the suit, however.
I really think he needs a cgi cowl. that way he can have the big muscular thick neck muscles but he would still be able to turn head and it look and move like a real neck. don't make it look skinny like it's made of several parts. it should look like one piece.

I think CGI could work. Superman's cape looks natural in MOS.

Of course, it all depends on the execution. It could turn out either good or bad.

A cape is a little different than a face, though. Definitely a rocky road to travel down. I'm confident that a CGI cowl is not yet necessary for a live-action Batman.

nonot a face just the cowl. that would be really easy with yesterday's technology. but yeah it was necesary even in nolan's movies. too bad nolan never realized it. in bb he looked like robot man whenever he looked iup, down, left, or right. in tdk and tdkr his neck looked absolutely terrible.
