The A wasn't blown/knocked off. At the beginning of Thor & Loki's fight it's most of the R and all of the K that get knocked off (a few seconds later there's a wide shot of the city as the Quinjet makes it's approach which confirms this). The A was the last letter standing at the end of the battle.

Yes it has. And Feige said we'll learn why SHIELD was not able to help Tony in IM3, as they were very busy, in future films. Probably Cap 2.
Yeah, it's quite possible we'll see SHIELD completely under siege by enemy forces in the Cap movie, which would explain why they were absent in IM3...

Wonder what level of foes they'll be facing in the SHIELD series.

I definitely want the team to be established. I want a headquarters, a charter drawn up, and a leader.

One of the things that irked me about Nolan's Batman movies was a serious under stocked Batcave, and no real Bat-Family.

I was hoping for Avengers Mansion, but i can see Disney/Marvel wanting to avoid comparisons to Bruce Wayne, so the Tower will be fine. DEFINITELY, want a core membership though. Six or seven members per movie.

Those kinds of things are simple easter eggs, not some mind-blowing cross-studio plans to join each other.

The MCU is amazing but it will never be quite complete without it's biggest character Spider-man, the bloody X-Men (although I can understand them being separate) and the freakin' Fantastic Four!

Yes on all the above except MODOK. Not sure I want to see him yet. He can appear in a TMNT film instead.

I doubt this will end speculation, unfortunately. Some people would rather believe Deadline's ***-stirring than actual facts.

I can live with that.

Spidey is cool in his own universe, but I was never excited about having him in the MCU. Sadly I can't tell why.

After having just seen Iron Man 3, let alone the big Oil Rig sequence in terms of how it was executed on screen, I really do hope that Whedon really steps it up several notches when it comes to how he portrays his action sequences.

I've said this before that while I do think Whedon knows on how to direct his actors and present a great story, filled with great and interesting characters, when it comes some of the production aspects of making a film, he tends to lack in some areas, namely, when it comes to staging a great action sequence.

Case in point, while the budget for "The Avengers", let alone the scope of the story, was bigger than "Iron Man 3", I felt that the scenes in Iron Man 3 were much more intense and executed better than an good amount of the action sequences in The Avengers. The gunfight sequence in the Hellcarrier was without a doubt one of the most plain and boring sequences that I've seen within an action film; it felt like something that I'd see in a TV episode.

And I really hope that the Avengers sequel isn't afraid to actually show the casualties and horrors of deaths like the first one did since Iron Man 3 had those needed qualities in my opinion, whereas I felt the Avengers felt hesitant at times to fully go there when they could have.

Room for improvement sure. And I think they will get better for Avengers 2. That was Whedon's 1st attempt at something like this.

That gunfight sequence yikes...for a Super Solider Cap can't hit the broad side of a barn with an automatic weapon! That would have been a perfect opportunity to showcase some Super Soldier skills but..no...

I really hope that if Whedon kills off another protagonist or major character that this time the character stays dead in order to actually give some emotional resonance for the surviving characters.

I'm starting to think they did everything on purpose. If you think about it, they can explain why the heroes don't appear in the Agents of SHIELD tv show simply because they think Coulson is dead.
It makes perfect sense.
