If he was afraid of tackling characters that some people find silly he wouldn't be involved with Batman and Superman in the first place. Neither of them exactly had glowing reputations in the public eye before their respective reboots. Batman had ice puns and Superman had the "he's an owerpowered goody-two-shoes" thing going against them. And I don't know why you'd assume he'd be opposed to Supergirl, she's not inherently silly, just like Robin. There are some silly aspects, but they could easily be played straight without much sacrifice. She might not have her comics costume, but like Robin, she'd still embody the character at heart.

But none of that matters because she probably wouldn't show up until the sequel and we don't even know if Nolan will be involved come the sequel.

Supergirl has a strong fan base, probably stronger than Robin (want proof? Look at the reaction DC got when Kara was killed off and then look at when Jason Todd got killed off), the only reason people are iffy with her is thanks to the ****astic Helen Slater movie, same with John Henry Irons as STEEL, bad movie and all of a sudden the character is the plague (and most recent Hal Jordan).

If these characters are done properly then there is no issue, Nolan...he might not want to include Kara, but people are giving him way to much credit for this, Man Of Steel is Goyer and Snyder's baby, Nolan simply opened the door and helped finance the film, the rest is just out of respect due to what he was able to do with the Batman franchise.

I'm sure that would have had a much different outcome were it Dick instead of Jason. But yeah, Supergirl does have her fans.

I think Supergirl is a great character.

You're right, I can see Nolan being less involved after this movie and Goyer being more involved and really thinking about other DC superheroes and how they all tie together.

well then just combined Dick leaving and becoming Nightwing with Jason Todd being killed off, they you get a similar reaction to Kara dying in Infinite Crisis

Everyone compares Supergirl to Robin but I've always seen her more like War Machine. The only thing they really share with their heroes is their powers. Even their origin stories are different. Kara is an alien who has to come to grips with her planet being destroyed while Kal El has to come to grips that he is an alien from a destroyed planet.

so if there is a Supergirl spin off movie I really hope they don't call it "Girl of Steel". So what do you folks think?? "The Maiden of Might"? I doubt they would simply go with "Supergirl" again...so what do you think?

I don't really think they'd do a solo Supergirl movie.

It wouldn't be unprecedented but I don't think it's much of a priority.

probably not, if they choose to expand the Super=Family on screen, it will be through cameos/sidekicks. I fully expect to see John Henry Irons in the Man Of Steel franchise at some point, but highly doubt he's getting his own solo outing again until they cement in that these are different versions from the failed movie counterparts, until they establish this, they will be taking back seats in other heroes movies

DC denying access to the page is very odd, since I still have a window with it open, here's what it says....look at the date and you'll see why I said its odd lol

Call me when Krypto is confirmed.

Also, tie-in comics are never canon.

This is going to be interesting. They've been hinting at another superhero appearing in MOS. Maybe its Kara.
