The point is that being in the Begins forum helped Begins get over 56 percent of the vote.

And a head to head battle with Superman the Movie would be much likely a closer fight which is amazing for a 35 year old movie most young people never watched.

Batman Begins is still the clear winner even in that poll. You're the one who sarcastically said BB is winning on a poll in the Bat forums, well...BB is also leading in a poll that's NOT in the Bat forums.

But not all on one film, thus BB is the clear winner. That's fact.

That is the most transparent moving of the goalpost I have seen in quite a while. Sadly hilarious. It went from the simple concept of Batman winning a vote to the percentages of votes against batman.

Why?

I didn't move any goal post.

Yes 48 percent is winning by certain non-democratic definitions. But it couldn't get the majority of the vote outside of the Batman Begins forum. It did make a difference having the poll inside the Batman Begins forum so I don't see what is sadly hilarious about my position since I was right to some extent.

Batman Begins is winning a poll in the BATMAN BEGINS FORUM.

What a shocker.
I don't see a hint in your snark implicating anything to do with the precise percentage of Batman winning over all the others. Just the cut and dry implication of Batman begins winning a poll because it's a Batman thread and then being proven utterly wrong via evidence of the film still winning in a neutral board. All the percentage stuff you added later as a last ditch attempt at retort.

Having engaged on the film on other threads, I have come to realize that my enjoyment of Begins is rapidly disintegrating. Another aspect that bothered me with the film was the treatment of the Scarecrow. I did not have a large problem with him being reduced to a henchmen; my problem was that Nolan's secularization really robbed him of the iconic imagery associated with him in the comics. Excluding the scene where he rides the horse at the end, the man hired by R'as to distill the chemical was not the Scarecrow. If anything, his characterization was more Arkham - Amadeus or Jeremiah - than Crane. Don't get me wrong: Murphy gave a magnificent performance and helped anchor it closer to the source material (in fact, I'd argue he was the best part of the film.) Having said that, I still feel the best depiction of Scarecrow was in Arkham Asylum. I like to believe that in some alternative universe, an authentic portrayal of the Scarecrow was committed to film: a variation of the Western Preacher-y costume from The New Adventures of Batman & Robin, Murphy cast as Crane/Scarecrow, and Gothic/surreal imagery.

If anything, the more I think about it, Begins felt like an Elseworlds Tale. It was hardly a Batman film; it was an interesting experiment, but it was not until the sequels that the creative team delivered a film that legitimately looked and felt like a Batman film.

An interesting perspective, given that a recognizable portion of the fandom think the exact opposite, that the TDK-titled sequels lost the sense of Batman that Batman Begins supposedly had.

BTW, I share your growing ambivalence towards the film. Every rewatch gets a lower mark from me.

It just depends on how you define "winning".

Some would say you can't win a poll without a majority vote.

For example if 36% vote for Batman Begins, 34% vote for Iron Man and 30% vote for Superman The Movie you could argue Begins won clearly.

Others would claim a run off vote was required to determine a clear winner by majority.

*Update* BB now leads with more than 50% of the total votes!

Naaah.

In fact, MOS actually gave me a slightly better opinion on this film, at least.

Man of Steel is proof of how great BB's origin really is. They tried to ripoff the flashback thing and it just didn't flow anywhere near as well in MOS as it did in BB. Great editing choices by Lee Smith and Nolan.

Don't rip so hard on Man of Steel's editing while praising Nolan. One of the magazine interviews reveals he helped edit some of MOS.

That aspect could've been just as great if it seeped organically out of the story, and not Goyer unimaginatively trying to ape Begins. The added thread of Krypton also muddled the timeline way too much for it to work like BB.

I haven't seen Mos yet (just in july) , but i've read about the flashback structure. It's always unfair to compare to Nolan's cross-cutting through time , because if there's a good thing he's at...it's that. It's a beauty of his own . His form is impeccable. He just knows so well the momentum of each scene. If there's something disappointing in Rises , is that it didn't try something similar.

Reading this topic , made me go home listening to BB ost. Boy , how ridiculous good is it ? It's not even comparable to the rest of Zimmer's work with Batman. I can see all movie in my head just listening to the songs. Amazing work.

There's a lot of movies i would love to see in a movie theater (just last week i was able to finally see Lawrence in a movie theater , what a marvelous experience) and one of them is...Batman Begins. Not because i didn't see it back then. But because i didn't enjoy. I don't know why. It's one of the strangest experience i had at movies. I was completely numb with it. I was wise enough to buy it , i re-watched a day before going to see Superman Returns and...oh boy. How wrong was I. Yeah the movie has its flaws , the 2nd half is kinda pedestrian , but dat 1st hour...godly. Nothing touches it. It's american entertainment at its best. I would love to revisit it in a theater.

Yea. I would say that BB has the most complete soundtrack of the three. It is also the one where JNH offers the most contribution; the two are connected, undeniably. However, I would say that the soundtrack as an isolated listen is far superior to its usage in the film, which often times is wholly overtaken by sound effects and dialogue, a symptom of it being mixed in a far lower volume than the bombast of TDk or Rises.

I loved Begins origin and still listen to it quite often. Maybe just because I'm still listening to it but Man Of Steel Soundtrack is right up there for me. Maybe not it terms of how it fit the film but just for a listen I'm leaning towards MOS soundtrack. Then Begins, The Dark Knight and Rises.

No not quite, Superman was decent in parts, its over reliance on CGi for the third act didnt help and lack of depth for the whole thing holds it back from claiming the title I feel.

Good but not great.
