I think tying up with McD for instance would be great.. I think McD can sell out the entire Thursday for instance... if they do something like this:

That's huge marketing.. so, you have a guaranteed sell out Thurs, and then the rest of the people will buy their own tickets for Fri-Sun, maybe guaranteeing the biggest opening of all time...
Yeah, but even doing that, it doesn't matter if the demand isn't there. This film could absolutely explode ... and it's still not coming within 75 million of the opening weekend record. No promotional tie in with McDonalds would matter.

If this is well received, the sequel could see big jumps regardless.

Again, the Walmart promotion was good in idea ... but the execution hasn't been great on either part.

It's not a failiure by any means, because will have showings all over the country @ 7pm, but not what it could have been.
