When I say "likeable" I'm refering to this incarnation...

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

He reminds me of the black kid in Extreme GhostBusters.

Marvel does not base their casting decisions on this factor. It has been demonstrated time and again.

taking a cue from Captain America, I wonder how it would look if the lead actor for Cage was morphed with CGI to look much slimmer before the transformation.? Hmm.. If pre-experiment Cage is already super-buff, it's going to mute some of the 'wow' factor of his origin (if they deal with it at all).

So you mean they don't hire a B-list actor and surround them with A-list actors?

I'd rather it not have such a big part of the narrative like pre-serum Cap was.

That is exactly what they do, but casting Dwayne Johnson as Luke Cage goes against this model.

Surely MARVEL can go outside of the box if they want. But MARVEL treating their actors & actresses the way they do wont help

Maybe, I'm just saying that I could see Marvel casting Terry Crews as Luke Cage even though he is not a household name like The Rock.

Marvel may not hire A-list actors, but they tend to hire people who are on their way up, who have A-list potential, and lock them into contracts at low prices. RDJ was on his way back up, as was Evans. Hemsworth was on his way up from obscurity and even Ruffalo is on was on his way up from the indie fare. They bill themselves to actors as providing opportunity to open doors with high profile characters. It's a bit brilliant, but still, they get A-list-potential who aren't actually A-list (yet).

I don't know if Terry Crews actually fits that bill... maybe he does, not sure.

I feel like most of that was blown out of proportion and is business as usual in Hollywood.

Dwayne Johnson as Namor actually isn't that bad of an idea...

a Namor movie could be successful with Johnson as the lead

I think there should also be a Heroes For Hire movie, not just Luke Cage with Terry Crews as Power Man... No idea who should be Iron Fist.. Maybe Cam Digandet?

You can tell us its not, but can you provide any actual *proof*?

Note that "I have an unnameable anonymous source" is not "proof." Its unsupported hearsay.

Really? Lowballing actors? Using starpower and success as leverage for higher salaries? Threatening to recast as leverage? That's Monday morning in Hollywood. Hell, that's capitalism!

There's a reason why most casting announcements say "So and so enters negotiations"

marvel could start signing actors to "general development" deals nonspecific to a role until further development of a script and role..
