Though a recent retcon, the whole Jord/Gaia thing does give him an almost instinctual sense of guardianship of Earth. May be too convoluted for the current MCU. Then again...

I've always been for this being included in the MCU, that's if they work it in properly and makes sense within the story.

Yes, I hope they include that as that's his mother in the mythology as well. But even if they don't he's gotten connections with more than Jane on Midgard so there shouldn't be a problem either way.

If it could be easily explained to the G.A. that Thor's birth mother is Jord I'd be all for it as well.
I can see Frigga dieing in Thor's arms saying, "I'm so proud of you, as I'm sure your Birth mother is as well." type deal and leaving the rest for another movie.

As a huge fan of the MCU's Thor my only concern for this franchise is: What if Jane dies? That is essentially his only connection to earth. If Jane dies, why even come to earth at all? Why not stay in Asgard with his people and shack up with Sif?
His best buddies are on Earth (the super friends).

I think the first two films strike a good balance. If we ever get a Thor movie that is all Asgard, I think it would severely hurt the franchise. There always needs to be that umbilical that attaches him to our world.

I had to vote "Doesn't Matter," but really, my vote is for "Balanced." Need moar poll options.
I Agree......

Star Trek is not Thor.......

You're right, the series had less time and had no problem relating the different worlds either.

Then another example was Highlander jumping back and forth in time. I didn't mind it at all, but I know some people it did confuse alittle. Point is, Thor's reality is more than one place, one time period. If done properly there shouldn't be any problems having all the worlds/realms.

They did cover the sectioned reality of the nine realms in the first film, and using the Bifrost like a Wormhole or star trek's warping, or even Stargate's world jumping there shouldn't be any confusion because of all the similar shows and movies
