As much as I love Silvestri's score for the first film, I gotta say... with the talk of this being a political thriller, I wonder if such upbeat, Saturday afternoon-serial-style music would even fit the movie.

I'd be okay with a new composer. I don't mind Silvestri's main themes at times but I find a lot of his other pieces suck. For instance, his action music can all get very samey.

Agreed, although his Predator score is still to be considered as a classic. Interestingly enough, of all the TFA score I found 'Star-Spangled Man' to be my favourite.

I think the question here is whether Cap got it.

After Man of Steel, I'm SUPER excited for the new Cap movie. Supes just didn't deliver on the heroic, do WHATEVER it takes to save everyone antics that I expect from a superhero so Cap has got me jonesing for some proper super heroics :P

Yeah, I'd be fine with Silvestri coming back as the composer, but the tone of this score should be more suggestive of Bourne and The Manchurian Candidate, not The First Avenger.

since they had him back for the avengers after cap they might use him again. he's the only composer they've used more than once.

Technically not true. Brian Tyler who composed Iron Man 3 is also doing Thor 2.

Right.. Because I'm sure Cap will save the entire planet in this movie. Grow up, no reason to bring up MOS in here

LOL. I hope someone from the production is following this messgae board. If so, they are likely chortling with glee at us trying to piece together actor schedules, fanboy wishes and set photos into some semi coherent plot and character action.

The truth is--we just don't know. And I'll be the first to acknowledge that my speculation is based on my preference to see Peggy again, in a substantial role. But that's all it is--speculation.

Grow up? Might want to take some of your own advice there buddy. There was nothing antagonistic about my post, I'm actually a big fan of Supes and my point was entirely valid since Man of Steel was light on the colourful, classic heroics. Since Cap and Supes are very similar characters, it was a totally relevant comparison. I enjoyed Man of Steel too, it just just didn't fulfil a certain genre for me that I hope Cap will. As for you, you can contribute something constructive or keep it to yourself.

That was made by Alan Menken though.

Alan Menken rocks. They need to find a way to bring him back. Maybe they can make one of these in the style of a Disney musical.

Agreed. Im expecting a hell of a lot more from this movie than MoS, regardless of the "scale". Let's stay on topic here.

But the "grow up" comment was strange and uncalled for. Nothing childish about bringing up other sh movies, just slightly off topic.

I love how Marvel changes scores from film to film, even though I love many of the scores they've done previously (IM3, Thor, Cap, Avengers). It gives each film their own identity, and the replayed score throughout the original Spider-Man and Dark Knight series became predictable and ineffective.

Jackman did a phenomenal job on First Class. I think he'll be a great fit for this franchise.

I just hope he reprises Cap's theme or gives him a "modern" theme that sticks with you long after you see the movie.
