He's still the best one, as far as I'm concerned. The only Penguin that could challenge him is a live action version of the Arkham City Oswald.

Agreed. Burgess defined The Penguin like no other. It's thanks to him Penguin has that infamous 'Wak wak wak' bird like laugh the comics adopted from the TV show.

Did you know Burgess' Penguin was so popular on the show that they always had a script written for him in case he happened to become available to do an episode? He and Cesar's Joker racked up the most appearances on the show. 10 episodes each (including a three parter where they teamed up together), and the spin off movie.

Btw Batsy, knowing what a big Julie Newmar Catwoman booster you are (the only woman you ever wanted Batman to marry right? ) I came across these behind the scenes pics and thought you'd get a kick out of them:

How gorgeous is Julie in that second pic.

I don't recall any of the women in the 60s show being bad looking. They were all smoking hot.

Something about the 60s man.

The villains, no matter how unattractive they were (Mad Hatter, Mr. Freeze, False Face, King Tut, Clock King, Egghead etc) always had these gorgeous molls hanging out of them willing to do anything they wanted.

I tell you the criminal underworld was never hurting for female companionship in Gotham.

Great Catwoman pics, Joker.

Julie is the only CATwoman I ever wanted to see Batman end up with, haahahaha

Some news about the comic book series based on this show that's coming out: http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/gamere...#axzz2XoMWfaRs

My favorite parts:

- Riddler and Catwoman will be in the first issue
- More villains to come will be Penguin, Mr. Freeze (Otto Preminger style), Joker, and The Siren.
- They will be doing both Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt style Catwomen
- The tone of the comic is going to be like the first season of the show (which is the best season)

And they have to have Kitt and Newmar meet.

I was wondering if they were waiting for an anniversary for that. The nearest anniversary would be in three more years..... please don't be waiting for the 50th anniversary, Warner Bros.

That's beyond DVD and Blu-Ray... That's a chip that you implant into your brain and you can watch the show through contacts installed over your eyeballs.

Me, I'm waiting for all the '66 Bat-swag coming out, like the action figures and model kits. I'm especially interested in the 1/4 scale Batman from NECA, looks really nice.

Awesome Re: The Batman (1966) Appreciation Thread

picked up this bad boy on the e bay, for only 35 bucks (goes for about 40 plus in stores).

the 'deluxe edition' 1966 Batmobile in 1/25 scale glue kit from Polar Lights (I already had the snap one with the painted body with the red stripes already painted on).

some of the neat featues of this model:

Scale: 1/25
Skill Level: 3 (ages 12 and up)
Glue assembly, paint required
Molded in white, plus chrome and clear parts
Includes Batman and Robin figures
NEW TOOLING! Accurate body, interior & engine detail
Optional stainless steel photo-etch parts for fine detail
Full decal sheet
Optional parts to build big block or turbine engines
Parts to build the car as seen in all three seasons of the classic TV show
Super accurate body and interior detail
Detailed trunk compartment and engine
Decal sheet includes striping

^ That is AWESOME. They even did the Penguin's 'Birdmobile' version of it when he swiped the Batmobile in one of the first season episodes:

yup! and it does not mention it but it gives you stencils to do the red stripes which look better than the decals, you paint body red, apply stencils, paint body black, remove stencils now you have black body with the red markings .

It would be sad if the DVD comes out and the remaining cast members have already passed on. I hope they sort the legal mess ASAP so we can finally get a DVD/Blu-Ray release.

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Awesome interview with Adam, Burgess, Cesar, and Julie from 1989. They even discuss the 1989 Burton movie, what they've heard about it.

That's great to hear. I am really looking forward to it. I'm surprised they never tried a title like this years ago.

A group of girls in the "Joker's Riled and Batman is Wild" were interested in him too, as was Lady Penelope in the Londinium Trilogy.
