Another positive review, in French, but you can translate with chrome 3.5/5:

http://www.addictomovie.com/critique...dictomovie.com

Seems to be called "Wolverine: The Battle of the Immortal" in France too!

Wonder what the Japanese audiences will make of it. It doesn't come out there for the masses until September.

It's a real crowd-pleaser. Everyone screamed and cheered!

The audience that you saw it with, you said most of the people (critics?) there weren't even that familiar with the X-films? And they screamed and cheered?

I wish I hadn't spoiled the mid-credits scene for myself

Well, I didn't know the entire audience of hundreds of people lol

It was a 'multimedia screening' aimed primarily at bloggers and other websites, or so I imagined. But you do often get random people at these screenings because they are on guest lists.

The Scandinavian guy next to me didn't know that much about X-Men, but was aware of the basics. The woman next to him knew nothing about The Wolverine but knew who Jackman was and was aware of the other films and her male friend had Origins on his mobile phone and obviously had some basic knowledge of the franchise.

But the point is that the people who popped up in that mid-credits scene are well known.

Also, I need to edit this in, all those people I just mentioned had already left the auditorium when the mid-credits scene came on, so they were not among the cheering and screaming people!

And, no, you shouldn't have spoiled it for yourself. Show a little more restraint next time!

Don't be one of the hordes of daft people who are so weak-willed and insecure they have to feel they know everything about a movie and can't bear to feel like they are being left out!

Haha I actually don't swipe/click thru the spoilers on here and I haven't been watching the videos. And I've stopped reading entire reviews, just the general musings of the reviewer. See? Good start on not being weak-willed right?

Hopefully. I usually reach a point where i stop watching trailers and stop clicking on spoilers. It does take a strong will when you are online and exposed to this mass of babble and information 24/7.

(Talking of 'stingers', I missed the one halfway through the credits of Pacific Rim, though someone at work - who also hated the film - told me what it was. Still can't believe how stupid that film was. The monsters came through the rift one at a time, several years apart, therefore giving mankind the chance to develop the Jaegers - what a dumb way to take over a planet!)

I've trained myself not only to skip spoilers, but I rarely even watch clips that get released before the movie. Sometimes I've even skipped trailers.

I like to go into the movie knowing as little as possible. It's more fun that way.

Yea I missed the mid-credits for Pacific Rim too, I think I mostly just know to stay for Marvel movies. My whole family comes out for Marvel movies (all 8 of us) and we know to stay back for those.

This time it didn't register to sit back and wait. We didn't stay back for MOS either, and none of us knew if there would be a "stinger" (never heard that word, until I read The Wolverine reviews) but mostly because MOS was POS Hated that movie.

Well I'm sure those beasts took some time to engineer, and the enemy were obviously interested in developing their troops to be the most effective force possible. A character in the film even speculates that the ones they had faced earlier were intended to pick off the weak and test defences (or something to that effect).

The film was ehh though. Pretty monsters, horrible characters

Positive review that will probably be added to Rotten Tomatoes. 4/5 stars.

But for the sake of answering what’s sure to be an often-asked question, yep, Wolverine’s second solo film is indeed better than the Superman comeback

Maybe, it certainly sounds like a step in the right direction at least.

By my calculations The Wolverine should have a solid 70-80% on RT if all these positive reviews get added.Great stuff
