Well if Jean is alive somewhere, then its really the Phoenix and not Logan's imagination.

It seemed like a mix of Jean with The Phoenix side being more dominate.

Did not like having her in this film...Could have done it without her. Mariko could have helped him move on. One flash scene probably would have been good

i think people are looking to hard into the jean stuff

when you look at wolverines state of mind in the film it makes sense to how jean acts when ever she is on screen, she starts off in his nightmares then by the end she is almost the voice saying he can finally die

its seems to be wolverines subconscious more then it is phoenix, maybe there was a white room easter egg but i honestly think that wil be as far as it goes this movie series

I think it's definitely in his head, not the Phoenix. It's his own sub conscience.

I agree it is all in his head.

And I totally agree that it did not need to be in the movie the way it was. One simple nightmare sequence with him killing her would have been enough. And as someone pointed out above, Mariko could have helped him move on.

It's all in his head. Man's got issues. And I'm glad she was in. Instant redemption for her part of X3 (her part being standing there looking like a read plant).

While it was nice to see Janssen back again this only reignites a big problem I had with the Logan/Jean relationship since the beginning. Basically that there is a Logan/Jean relationship with what little they ever showed us in the previous films. Best I could ever come up with was that Logan going after Jean was 1 part lust and 1 part 'I hate that pretty boy Scott so I'll go after his GF'. I just never bought that there was ever any real relationship between Jean and Logan. So everything about it in this film now just rings hollow.

She didn't feel the same things he felt. But what he felt was 100% real.

I completely agree. None of the three films gave too much emotional depth to their relationship. To be honest, i actually loved their scenes in the first X-men movie. The flirtations brought lightness and humor to the film, and representative of how Logan behaved around her when they met initially.

Granted the X-Men plots weren't suppose revolve on the wolverine/jean grey romance/friendship or whatever they had, but I feel like they didn't explore why the characters are mutually attracted to each other. To state that Logan is Scott's foil is too simplistic... Of course the comic books had decades of development compared to the movies, but none of the films ever address the more profound aspects of their relationship.

I think Jean Grey's empathy and understanding of Logan's vulnerability is the key. I think she just What do you all think? This can be a whole lecture by the way

Seeing this I can't help but wonder. What if they were to try that storyline in a sequel and Mariko was poisoned and used Wolverine's chopped off adamantium claws to end her suffering herself?

Janssen had the easiest role of all time in this film, lounge around in underwear and say the odd line.

Hoping this is it for her thought, Jean isn't around much in the comics and should stay that way .... but this is Fox so of course that means nothing.

Yes! That was one of my absolute favorite parts. It's almost like it really was her - some say she was pushing him to die but when he said he couldn't come with her, she didn't get mad or turn Phoenix - she smiled. It was like reverse psychology or something. She finally got him to admit that he did what she had asked - he saved her like she wanted in order to save the world. So she's proud of him for finding the man inside that he used to be once again. It was beautiful.

I still think she's a manifestation created by his mind of his guilt and grief from having to kill her but...

Forget ghost... Since she was the next stage of human evolution, the body may have been destroyed but she shifted herself to another dimension. That could really be Jean's astral form stranded in another dimension and it bonded/linked with Logan because it was he that was present as she shifted in to her astral form. Powerful telepaths do this in the books all the time.

I like that they blurred the line with Jean...and the all-white room and white night gown (White Hot Room) at the end was a nice touch...I think Jean at the end was my favorite moment...very haunting...

Can I just say it again, that I love how Jean Grey was incorporated into the story of The Wolverine. You know the story wasn't just about Wolverine's journey in Japan. Wolverine was still dealing with Jean's death and I just loved they mixed these elements in 1 movie. Wolverine going to Japan and meeting Mariko and all those Ronin stuff helped Wolverine to move on and find new peace.

Well, no need to speculate whether she was a ghost or just a piece of Logan's imagination because we have the real Jean Grey back in another timeline!
