But honestly guys, why would Schmidt is the greatest actor on the face of the earth, if he is going to convince anyone that he is Samuel Jackson.
I doubt you'll find too many people seriously entertaining this idea.

Why NOT save New York? What supervillain would tolerate a rival (Loki, Chitauri) or trigger-happy pawns (World Council) encroaching on his territory?

Let me rephrase that from 'people who might buy into it' to 'people who might actively get behind the idea and try to advance it on this forum as if it is real' so they can pretend to appear smart and perceptive.

Personally I think it's exactly what it looks like - Hasbro's selling a new Red Skull figure using an old but familiar body mold.

If Skull is Fury one would have to think Fury was kidnapped and replaced and Skull was not Fury all along.

That seems like the most likely scenario.

No offense, but this toy theory has absolutely no backing at all. It's laughable. Some of the stuff under spoiler tags in this thread has me laughing loud enough to wake the neighbors. When I first saw that toy image with the reused body I thought everyone would realize what had happened and move on. It's really kind of shocking that the thing has taken on such life here, but I guess people need something to pass the time.

Yeah unless it's a completely NEW figure like the Kurse figure for Thor darkworld, I wouldn't get my hopes up that high. Tho I THINK the last time Redford had an action figure was Sundance. lol

now i don't believe this "fury as skull" theory, but in defense of mr dent's post, there's quite the obvious reason skull would save the world from aliens.

1) he's a damn NAZI, the last thing he'd want is aliens taking over the world.
2) he's an egomaniac, if anyone's taking over his world, it's him.

kinda puts a new spin on the fact that he didn't pick any minorities for the Avengers
and hiding in a black man's body would be the last place anyone would think to look for him!

it's so not true, but it could be genius!

Fury is The Skull: lolbwahaha.

I don't think the Red Skull figure rules out the *possibility* of Skully getting a "twist ending" cameo, but it would most likely come from Alexander Pierce, *sure* as hell not from Nick Fury.

But if the Skull figure *is* a spoiler of that nature, the AIM beekeeper would have to be a spoiler, too. I don't rule out the possibility of AIM playing a role in these shenanigans, especially considering their comic-book links to HYDRA, but the fact that even IM3 didn't use the Beekeeper design when they had the chance indicates to me that Feige finds the concept too cheesy. And deservedly so.

If these are for a "movie," it's probably an animated one.

In the MCU, not really.

I don't think they will bring back the Red Skull until the next phase, if they do at all.

Shouldn't we actually be talking about the fact Red Skull and A.I.M. are returning?

This is what got me thinking too! What could that red bump mean?

It more than likely is that Hasbro just used the same mold of fury to create Red Skull, thats all. They have done it alot of times. I believe Blade (Return of Marvel Legends) also has that exact same mold, minus a few color changes. Or it might very well be that its the Red Skull based on the unexplainable picture of Nick Fury ^^^. But I am leaning for it being just a re-used mold.

I think it's much more likely that a geeksite I've never heard of posted an article filled with half-assed spec and used it to drive hits...

But maybe that's just me.

The Nick Fury with red dot picture also made me thinking, but who knows, maybe Red Skull uses a Nick Fury mask in one of the scenes to conceal himself

There are far, far more people talking about how popular and crazy the casually mentioned theory that Fury's been RS this whole time than people actually discussing it.

And it's really not any more wild than the desperate posters theorizing that Ultron would be from the future on the sole basis that Pym should be the one to create him.
