This is the major complaint, and most annoying among this fan base. And I've mentioned it before.

If a character has one film of prominence, it's a problem that they haven't gotten enough exposure.

But the moment said character gets a second movie with a prominent role it's a goddamn issue!

After that kind of bipolar thinking, it just appears like *****ing for the sake of it.

I get that. But its not all about screentime, is about what the director/s have done with them, not just with the dialogue, lines quantity, but with other elements too, like the look and the action too.

And I think most of us would agree that Mystique actions/power displays haves been cooler, more badass and intense that anything done by Rogue or Kitty, for example.

And that, to me, its sad.

Yes, I loved Mystiques scenes in the trilogy, but I need the same from all the X-Woman.

It is not even just about action scenes my original point was about the development of the characters not the prominence of their role in the franchise.

We know or will know more about mystique than any other x woman. Audiences see mystique as the big female star .

After FC and DoFP, we will know a lot about Mystique, yes. That will probably be the end of her story (unless they do another First Class film set in the 80s or something) so that should give room for more development for some of the other X-women in future films.

Yukio and Mariko got a lot to do in TW. Moira had a pretty big role in FC. I think that there will be at least two XF members, so I'm not concerned.

It's interesting to see that Jean Grey and Storm suddenly dropped from that list.

Actually, we probably still know more about Rogue than any other X-Woman in the franchise, and I think it's too early to say that audiences see Mystique as the big female star, considering just how prominent the other woman in the franchise are and because we still don't know the extent of any of their roles in Days of Future Past.

I don't care about a particular character getting more focus, as long as the characters who do get it actually serve the story told within the movie. I can deal with anyone getting less screentime if it's justified, even Hugh, Ian and Patrick.

I really hope DOFP will be her last movie in a while.

The Wolverine shows that there can be more great female characters in this franchise.

Who would've thought 13 years ago that Mystique would be portrayed by an Academy Award winner? I think Fox didn't expect this either. If Jennifer wasn't as succesfull as she is, Mystique would never be the main female character of the movie.

Still, I like her in the comics. She must be one of the most popular and best female comicbook villains (sadly there aren't too many good and relevant female villains).

The movie makers must really like her. In the movies she has always been one of my favorites, but I do think it's weird that she appeared in more films than Rogue and Storm (not counting that little pseudo-cameo in FC).

In general, most people seem to prefer Rebecca's Mystique, but I think Jennifer's Mystique is a great continuation of the character. It gives the character some well-needed development, instead of only being the 'silent assassin'. What we got in FC was a drastic change: from the bad-ass fighter to a main character that is some what the emotional core of the movie. In DOFP we seem to be getting both, so I'm happy. Oh, and that leg?!!! <3

About the Wolverine: Yukio and Mariko were strong characters in their own right. I love them. The actresses did an astounding job, especially knowing this was their first real roles in a movie.

I'm glad they have and are focusing on a female villain. The one constant theme throughout anything X-related is that the bad guys aren't completely bad and the good guys aren't completely good. Since the original Singer films reinvented the character, turning her into one of the series' fan favorites, it only makes sense to expand on what we know and see how she came to be who she is. As for comparing the two actresses, you can't. They're playing the same character, but she's at two very different stages of her life. Hopefully, in DoFP, we get to see those stages bridged.

that's merchandising right there!!

Fox should sell X-Men bikes, it would be something new and original, and trying to appeal to sports audience would be a nice move

“I’m naked, but when I do get to wear clothes, I love the ’70s outfits,” says Mystique actress Jennifer Lawrence when asked by SciFi Now about her character’s evolution in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

“Some of the Mystique look is a little different, but we’re still using the same paint. But she’s different in this film too. She was struggling – like a lot of normal humans – with the way she looked, and she was covered up a lot in the first movie, but this time she is Mutant and proud.”

Interesting list:

I'll give you one guess who tops both the Drama Roles and the Comedy/Action Roles.

Hey I didn't see that list and I believe it. A lot of talented ladies that I am fans of on that list.

I can't wait to see JLaw and the entire cast in Days of Future Class.

They probably do, when roles come around for women their age, which is less than those targeting the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, etc.

good point

Would be really interesting to read a real full list with all the actresses of current industry, even if we cant know that ever. But you know... to see certain names of this industry, and to really see how many offers they get, including all these current actresses, XMen actresses like Paquin, Page, Berry and Janssen, and some of the other A-list names, both current and not so current.
