I agree!

Hopefully if there's a Wolverine 3 movie, he'll comeback to direct!

I'm pretty sure FOX would consider bringing him up and James' last few films came from FOX. Walk the Line and Knight/Day are FOX films.

That would be cool, at least he is open to the idea. But at least this is a self-contained story so if its doesnt hapen it can stand alone by itself quite happily.

And they left the ending pretty open ended that they can do whatever they want.

Only real thing they would have to attach to the sequel is that Yukio is probably still with him.

I'm sure Yukio would be in any sequel if there was to be one.

He would be a good choice to direct Daredevil!

I can just imagine his dynamic choreography of Daredevil's acrobatics and boxing, not to mention expanding on the ninjutsu barely hinted at Wolverine in a more substantial manner. Given that DD has a built in radar system because of his incredibly heightened senses bar eyesight, it would afford him a venue to experiment with more of the subjective shots he used to portray a less powerful, wounded Wolverine.

I personally would love Mangold to come back if we get another Wolverine solo movie, I think he has the right take on the character and in general he is just a good director.

Would love to see his interpretation of someone like Omega Red.

Yeah I like his take on the genre its great that a director who isnt known for comic book movies can put their own take on it, throwing up some fresh ideas. Some directors seem a bit one note or always have a schtick they always use in a film.

The thing is that Mangold's work, his input, influence and 'vision', were obvious. It didn't feel like the studio interfered or rode roughshod over his concept. Some parts of the film (Viper) feel like someone else's ideas because they are tonally not quite the same.

But at least Mangold made 'his' film. It didn't feel that way with Origins, where Gavin Hood was out of his depth and lacked the forcefulness to make something in accordance with his vision. It's a shame he wasn't able to stand up for himself a bit more, or that the studio/Rothman trampled all over him.

Yeah, and he definitely added something to the movie a lesser director wouldnt have. The focus on character was one, but the movie looking stunning and good use of CGI was another. I have seen a few of his movies and they always tend to look very good. 3:10 To Yuma especially.

In fairness to Hood I think Mangold would have had a little more pull with the studio anyway, as he has done quite a few films were as Origins was only Hoods 2nd. Plus Mangold didnt have to deal with Rothman, or at least as much as Hood had too.

I do think Hood could have given us a good film without any of the meddling.

This. I'm in love with Cop Land and what he got Stallone to do with that role.

Cop Land was a very good movie, Mangold has done a lot more good movies than bad, even his bad ones dont tend to be terrible but just below average.
