His blows did not seem very powerful until he hit the rock creature to my eyes. I would like Thor to unleash his power and do some serious damage in this movie. The rock creature did not say anything but Thor said he would accept his surrender before wacking him.

So he didn't send guys flying whenever he hit them?

Just thinking but maybe Alan Taylor is one of those humble, introverted, highly creative types who are better at being solitary thinkers, dreaming up images of epicness than basking in the high octane extrovertedness of a large, screaming crowd. I certainly can sympathize with him if that's the case.

The best part was his hammer flying out and hitting people. His blows did not send anyone flying in the clips shown.

I feel this way too. I'd been thinking that maybe this was one reason he hadn't been doing a lot of press, and in the D23 interview one of the first things he said was that he felt overwhelmed or something at comic-con.

Chris Evans said that once at the SDCC before First Avenger came out. Even with the FF movies under his belt he was a bit intimidated lol

Hmmm that's wierd, considering how he sent those Frost Giants flying in the first one.

At the time Thor was pretty reckless. The guy almost went into warrior madness mode.

It doesn't matter wreckless or not if you're as powerful as Thor you send enemies flying.

I don't know about that. I can recall many battles in comics where thor punches don't send the bad guys flying. The same can be said for every other very powerful hero in comics.

Yeah but these guys aren't villains, they're canon fodder at best but I see what you're saying.

Thor might just be having some fun as well. Like in the teaser, where he jumps and strikes the ground so foes around him get thrown to the ground. He rises smiling, which looks like he's just having a bit of fun rather than being in any serious battle.

Exactly. Loki is far too creative to be somebody's pawn twice. He obviously has an agenda that serves nobody but himself. I'm betting that he has something panned that screws everyone over and puts him in position to gain power at the end.

Thor´s hand being cut off is funny. He won´t go all Aquaman so it´s either

that Loki made an illusion to fool Malekith into trusting him of being "evil"/not on Thor´s side. I mean Loki does appear to arrive with this hands tied to that ship in the desert?

Or it´s true but there is a way to restore the hand with "magic".

I too think he will fool everyone. He might help Thor and take down Malekith but as Loki 882 and Dasher10 said, he will put himself in a position of power in the end.

I think it's neither. Loki I think is working with both sides.

That scene, with the hand cutting off, it was very, dream-like.

I will keep saying this until we see the movie, but I don't think it's an illusion, I think it is something that is "going to happen", but doesn't.

I think it's a vision of the future by Heimdal. Or a vision by someone.

It makes sense. Loki obviously has intentions to betray Thor, but the result would be his own death, however, he probably needs to align himself with Malekith also. Loki cutting off Thor's hand, is something that will lead to bad things for him. Which is why I think that he DOES play a part in attempting to offer Jane up to Malekith, but he deceives Thor, and makes it look like it was all Malekith.

Tom hinted at Loki slipping in between the cracks. He gets what he wants, and it works to his advantage. He gives up Jane to Malekith, but still manages to stay in Thor's good grace

If his hand gets cut off... How will he continue carrying Mjolnir? How is this actually going on in the story, I mean is it leading to being King Thor where he got cut off his arm? But it will happen in the far distant future, not with young Thor... mhh...

Oh, I just saw the post about this beeing a dream / vision. If not there is still some kind to heal it I suppose? I mean we're talking about Asgardian Gods lol. Just wondering how he could possible put his hand back on lol... Deadpool style or something XD

I think it doesn't matter, doesn't need to be healed, because I think it doesn't actually happen

I think it's a vision.

I am pretty sure the rock creature is Gorr, from the first appearence of Thor in JiM. He looks like one of the stone men from Saturn lol. Very very close to it.
