Really dude? The audience at a BATMAN film wouldn't understand the connection of Dick Grayson?

I just got word from my secret contact that fans en masse will turn on Nolan in the not so ambiguous future. There will be a migration of thought. A displacement of ideology. The scale will be simply biblical. It will feel like a dream within a dream. The select few who still supports Nolan will be left in Limbo, waiting to die alone and with Bale's Bat voice, the ultimate curse.

You obviously don't understand what the audience is for these movies. These are not Batman fans like you and me. They don't read comics, they've seen the shows (60s maybe, depending on their age) and seen the movies. Even so, ive been through this argument before. The majority of the general audience don't know Robin's name by heart. Most don't know "Dick Grayson" they just know Robin. These films are not made for fanboys theyre made with the general audience in mind.

I know people who have seen the 60s series and in the 90s seen Batman Forever like once. And they couldn't tell me who Robin's name was.

You guys have to stop thinking that these movies revolve around the fans. Because they don't. We're an EXTREMELY SMALL PERCENTAGE. It's the same as the GA knowing who Wonder Woman is of course, but the majority wouldn't be able to tell us that her name is "Diana Prince".

When it comes to subversive satires/parodies, Mystery Men is uncomfortably realistic exactly until the film turns into a reconstruction in the 2nd half. I think.

They're aimed at both from what I get. At least certainly no exclusively at the general audience.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Nolan fans/Nolanites and Dark Knight Trilogy fans in general, blast the new footage as soon as it comes out, call it generic, watered-down crap that couldn't stand up to Nolan's stuff on it's best day. They'll also likely tear the director to shreds and blast his/her filmography.

I'm like Miss Cleo, but legit.

To be fair...this is a step down in acting talent.

However, let the breeze blow over. In a year, when we get a teaser, people will be saying Affleck is better. I still stand by that.

Judging by the public's reaction to the affleck casting probably stilll a long way off or never really?

People are still really hung up on Bale and Nolan and don't seem to be too accomodating to both snyder and affleck.

Oh, I don't doubt that either at all. That' just how fanboy mentality is. In time, Bale and Nolan's Batman will be the biggest disgrace to the Batman universe ever and Snyder/Affleck's Batman is the best thing since sliced bread. I'll already seeing a bit of it and that's even without a single trailer or pic released.

ETA: As far as the GA is concerned though for now, the Nolanverse Batman is still where it's at. Hence the uproar.

Doesn't look like Nolan's films will receive the Lion's share of criticism anytime soon over the next installment of the Batman Legacy. The recent news is causing fans to destroy the next film before production even starts.
