eh... dude, the TEAM decides who becomes a team-member. you just can't decide you want to be an X-man and suddenly become one.

Xavier decided on the original team, and wolvie

we arn't really sure who decided on gen 2 (Bobby, Rogue, Kitty, Colossus) but i guarantee wolverine was part of the deciding factor, and I'm quite sure Xavier, Storm and maybe Cyclops (if he was emotionally capable) would have felt the same way Wolverine did about making them team-mates.

I think you essentially have to be asked to be part of the team. The X-men are the teachers after all and Xavier has stated (and first class even showed) that teaching how to control ones abilities is indeed part of the school curriculum. So the X-men do already have a good look into what students have potential to be X-men someday. And probably just ask them if they're interested and want to train once they're 17-18.

obviously we've never seen the in's and outs of this on screen, but it's a logical inference. Rogue and Bobby at least were just special exceptions. The same kinda logic is all over the comics, especially in the sense of "Young Avengers" (not an x-men book but the same logic applies). The Avengers wanted the team shut down because they felt they were far too young to be doing heroics... but the team eventually proved themselves mature and responsible enough and the Avengers let them do there thing.

I think the same notion is what happened with Rogue and Bobby. They earned there "X" in X2 and the team decided to make them teammates.

Hey we will agree to disagree

either way they were being trained to become X-men in X3, whether or not they were part of the team at the end of X2 is down to opinion

well i think your opinion is in the minority.....

The suit with the X on it makes them X-men. Yes they were still training, but if you've ever picked up an X-men book in your life or watched the cartoons, you'd know even cyclops and Jean (the first X-men) still trained in the danger room. It's not exclusive to any level of experience.

the only thing I agree with you on is that Alcatraz was Kitty, Iceman, and Colossus's first serious mission, but the field work doesn't suddenly label them as part of the team either.

It's not down to opinion. They were X-Men and that is a fact. They were described as that by the actors and crew. A uniform means you are part of the team. Nobody gets a uniform and goes on official missions to see the president unless they are team members.

That is why they were X-Men at the start of X3 because they'd already joined in X2

he clearly has some sense of humour, but I feel like he actually would like to be back, who wouldnt with the impressive cast it has?

but as any actor, he would preffer better material than what he had on X3, obviously

Question: has anyone figured out or uncovered what the music was used in the leaked trailer?

It's Time by Hans Zimmer. It's the song used at the end of Inception.

It was "Time" from Inception.

I think they were upgraded as part of the team at the end of X2.

Why would them give those two leather costumes if they aren't part of the team yet? Just to look cool infront of the camera? To hint that they will be a X-Men member in the next film? They didn't give Nightcrawler that leather costume and the other students that were rescued.

Certainly a provocative ending, but I'm not sure it would resonate with the masses. Especially if there is another purple guy smiling at the end. I also don't believe FF fits into the picture in any way regarding DoFP. It may have influence with films later on, but I don't think Singer will shoehorn that stuff into this one.
So to be left with a few remaining mutants of the franchise to continue forward with that dark storyline. That might be a bit much, what if it turns out like a bad dream that someone is having at the end, maybe they could leave it like that.

Yeah totally. I loved Ben he's very talented. I'd love to see him again as Angel.

@LaurenSD
She does still look good. Then again I've always liked older women.

but his scene with his father was decent. He has a great talent, wheter X3 role was poor or not.

And not to mention that he would be soooo kickass as Archangel. The fans that have seen all his movies would know that already

Sadly, Angel's character was totally wasted in X3. He had barely any interaction with other characters beside his father. If the movie was longer, there would've been time for another danger room scene where he was training with the others after he arrived in the X-mansion. Then he could've been a true part of the battle line in the final battle. It would fit with him coming to terms with his decisions and who he wants to be. And it would've been cool to see him rush into the enemies from the sky or evade burning cars Magneto throws at him.

I wouldn't have mind if he came back in DOFP.
