I prefer the 'Out of the Shadows' look. That other piece of art is too muscular, it borders on the grotesque.

I suspect if they went with 2d hand drawn for the new series this is how it would've looked.

When I first saw the "Out of the Shadows" look I instantly thought - This is how they'd look in a film set in a realistic world.

That's probably the most accurate thing I'd like to see, sans the beaks. And they they should have pupils, as that white eye thing only works in animation and comics.
