At least someone does, when I ask my wife if I can buy a $300 figure you should see how brutally violent her eyes get, these days no point in even asking haha.

I really wish I had the money and the space for that beauty...

I'd need a whole new house for all my Batman memorabilia.

It's funny. My girlfriend doesn't mind when I buy her a 200 set of underpants. They're both just toys, anyway...

Isn't that what Father's Day is for?

Or ask if you can get it for your birthday!

I really want the Hot Toys doll but I don't have much interest in the Batmobile. It's just way too expensive. For that price I could buy a replica 1989 Batman cowl with the emblem and the torso armor.

That's something I really want one day, a replica suit. It's cool because you can buy pieces of it throughout time if you're on a budget.

Well it's funny you bring it up because I turn 30 this year in November and I've actually always wanted an 89 Cowl for my collection (which used to have it's own thread on here somewhere back when I could still afford to collect). I was hoping that the master himself Reevz would help out and I already contacted him.

So here's hoping that my wife actually follows through and gets it for me, I'd love to get the Hot Toys figure and batmobile but I literally like many others have no space to display it so there would be no point.

I'm hoping to get my hands on my own cowl by the end of the year. The key thing is to find somebody that makes it from a mold of a screen used cowl. Reevz seems legit, his name gets tossed around on every hardcore Batman forum. As well as Bob Dullam. When I was a kid I really wanted to be Batman so it would really please the child inside of me to own and wear the real Batsuit.

I just saw someone post a screen used BR stunt bat-suit on Ebay the other day but I believe they wanted around $4,000 or more for it.

This is the movie that made me a Batman fan, before that i was more into Superman and Swamp Thing but this movie made me a fan as i recalled when i saw Scrooged in theaters and the teaser appeared i was stunned as i couldn't wait.

I saw this movie 6 times in theaters when i was 8 and i had nearly all the merchandise from cards, t-shirts, toys, game (i got that for Xmas that year), Taco Bell cups, CD soundtracks with both Prince/Elfman (i still own them), coloring books, novel, comic adaptation and more. I watched/taped reruns of the 60s show during the same time and i collected the comics even to Catwoman and Robin. I also ate the cereal (remember that?) as i had the bank as well and even got the movie on video for Xmas in my stocking.

Did it made anyone a fan too and also saw this in theaters?

I was a Batman fan 10 years before the movie and grew up with Adam West's TV series, but this movie took me into a new level of fanaticism. I simply cannot recall how many times I saw this in the theater, too many to count.

I was five when it came out, but saw it on VHS a couple of years later. I didn't want to see anything else for months, except for the C64 videogame.

I'll go as far to say that with all the HYPE! and merchandising done, this IS STILL the biggest superhero/comic book movie EVER! It has yet to be beaten as far as impact is concerned. It immediately spawned: Flash the TV series, Darkman, Dick Tracy and others.

I wonder how many people went to see Batman. I know The Dark Knight and TDK Rises surpassed Batman at the box office however the price for a ticket these days is twice as much. It's even easier to crown a new box office king if the price of a ticket for IMAX is going for fifteen bucks. I wonder if Batman sold more tickets than any other Batman film.

IMO this only has to do with the fact that it was the first batman movie.

They had one in 1966, and nothing short of being a bat-phenomenon either.

Figures adjusted for inflation would suggest that The Dark Knight was still bigger, but Batman opened in half as many cinemas. Overall, I would agree that Batman was the bigger cultural phenomenon. In part, that was due to the unprecedented hype, but it was also a film unlike anything seen before.

The amazing thing about the B89 phenomenon was that the film was marketed almost soley around the Batsymbol. That symbol was so iconic that it was all they needed to plaster on posters to get people in to see the film. You knew exactly what you were going to get...Batman.

Wasn't there people paying to see movies they were not even interested in just to see the trailer to Batman, and then walking out after the trailer was done?

That is true and years after the film was released and before DVD, fans bought copies of the trailer at conventions

And sadly enough you weren't getting him but a midget who makes girls drunk to sleep with him just to wear a costume later to sedate, grope and scare her.

Please. Guessing the whole point of the movie went right over your head.
