"Everyone can be Batman" is not true. You need ninja training, be in top physical shape and have a few billion in the bank.

I think he kind of contradicted himself when he said that considering the way he treated all the wannabes in the previous flick.

Yeah, pretty much the whole third act of that movie made no sense. And it contradicted what had been established in previous movies (hell, we had Katie Holmes practically say that Bruce was the mask and batman the actual person straight to damn camera).

I get that Batman is supposed to be hope but isn't that Superman? Batman is fear?

The Dark Knight makes a point that only those with the financial means can be vigilantes. "I'm not wearing hockey pads."

Well, I think most of the League of Shadows ninjas weren't billionaires. M<y point was that it still works in terms of inner coherence.

Well, those wannabes just wanted to kill criminals, so you see more revenge or violence than actual sense of justice.

But I totally see your point.

I think I agree. Basically it's stated in BB and TDKR that no matter who's behind the mask, Batman is a symbol and thus he can endure, or live forever. Which was catastrophically knocked down when they unveiled that Batman statue and made public and real that Batman could perfectly die.

To be honest, I don't think the point was literally that every person could be Batman or a Batman like figure. But it was all a play on the symbolism of Batman, of heroes, and how they have that potential to call to those certain aspects in everybody.

Since its been one of the core aspects of the character since his creation I'd be inclined to think it does.

Alfred and Bruce's best scenes are in Batman and Robin. Yeah, Schumacher's.

Probably all this Affleck talk got me thinking but Val Kilmer is favourite live-action Batman.

That's not to say that Forever is my favourite Batman movie. FAR from it. But the job Kilmer does with the material he was given in it is pretty spot on. Better than Bale.
Seriously.

THAT was a Batman who really should have gotten a movie that took itself a little bit more seriously.

Agreed. Kilmer sold the Bruce Wayne needing to be Batmsn dynamic better than any other imo. Bales Batman was never comfortable being Batman, he couldn't wait to get out of the Cowl.

I don't think it does to what he's talking about. Characters can represent a variety of different things, and I honestly think most heroes embody hope in some form or fashion. It's not like Superman has a monopoly on representing hope or that Batman can only embody fear.

That's not too unpopular. Movie didn't do well, but the reaction was good and it's rep has grown over time.

I like Batman as being man's ability to climb out of the shadow of fear.

Out of the Burton/Schumacher era, I'd totally agree. Plus those are the only normal scenes in the whole damn movie. But you really think they're better than the scenes with Bale and Caine? This scene alone blows everything else out of the water:

Never liked the Colson guy from the MCU.

In Iron Man i thought he just looked wrong for a shield agent, looked more like an accountant then he came back and came back and Ughh.

Was glad when he died.

Now he's coming back

Hah, Coulson started to annoy me very soon. But when they had him acting like a school in love with Captain America in Avengers, that was it for me.

I thought Nic Cage did a really good job in The Frozen Ground, along with Cusack.

Cheered when Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) died in Fast & Furious. Hated it when she "got better" in FF 6. Also cheered when her character died in Lost and Resident Evil. I really can't stand her. Maybe it has to do with her permanent scowl.

I completely agree. I'm watching through Lost for the first time right now and I just groan every time she's on screen.
