That made me laugh. That sums up just about every fanboy who does a fancast ever.

Well, as Josh Brolin wasn't cast as Batman...

I'm still holding out hope for Jon Hamm (especially since Snyder and Ben have both worked with him) or Matthew McConaughey.

I almost want Hamm to be cast just so that I don't have to hear fancasting scenarios or rumors about him being cast ever again. Sorry if that came off too harsh.

I'd love to see Phoenix get this role. I'm sure if they did a screen test they would see he could deliver. Come on, the man showed perfect darkness as a villain in Gladiator and was night and day different playing Johnny Cash in "Walk the Line" Quite a bit of range imo

Some actors think CBM's reduce their prestige as an actor. Just look at Eric Bana, he said that he was happy that Hulk wasn't a success which meant no sequels and that he could go on to a more "respectable" film career.

Also, Eric, did playing the villain in Star Trek 2009 hurt your career when that movie was hugely successful?

Joaquin Phoenix should be The Joker, not Lex.

And while Bana's comments seem sort of rude, I sort of get it. Actors are actors because they like playing different roles. Playing the same role in 15 sequels isn't exactly what gets actors blood pumping unless they love the character, or need the career boost/money. I'm sure some really damn good actors like DDL would be interested in playing a serious, well written comic book character if they knew it was only a one-time thing.

CBM's can help and/or hurt a career.

CBM had a recent article where Bana said that he was very proud of The Hulk.

He did say that he was glad there were no sequels because it takes so much time that it would take at least six films that he has done since The Hulk off the table .

Nowhere in that article Does Bana talk about more respectable films.
Again, that is at CBM.
Just go there and search Eric Bana .

While I'd love DDL in a comic film, good luck ever making it happen. The man only does a film about once every five years. Good luck trying to get him to do any kind of franchise.

If DDL thought the part of Aragorn in LOTR lacked merit, then it seems doubtful that he would want to be involved in a CBM.

I remember DDL saying great things about Ledger and Joker so if it was something like Lex or Joker, something so iconic, I think he would do it.
