I've never even heard of Divergent. And I've never seen the Hunger Games - nor do I want to. A film where children have to kill each other sounds like a terrible message to put out there.

Hunger Games is actually really good. You should watch. It's about people standing up against the killing not just about the violence.

Really? Huger Games is quite good. You would probably be more offended by Battle Royale its a bit too over the top.

The books are terrific and the film is great, too.

I might end up seeing it when it comes on TV. But I'm not making an effort to see it before that.

I'm not quite sure how much DOFP will gross WW. I'm pretty sure it'll do more than $400 million.

But I believe if the film is truly epic and kick@$$ and the marketing is fantastic (which I'm pretty sure it will be), this will be a huge hit for FOX.

That being said, sadly, I'm pretty sure TF 4 will be the top grossing film of 2014...unless it's pure garbage and people are truly fed up with them after TF 2 and TF 3. But I don't see that happening.

Oh God, don't remind me of Iron Man 3. I paid money to see that. Suddenly Tony Stark was a nervous wreck all the time. All those people had their limbs or whatever regenerated by the Extremis program and then suddenly just turned evil. And all those Iron Man suits flying around on their own, who needs the Avengers!? And don't even mention the Mandarin as a fake who made the toilet smell. Oh, the horror of it all, I need to lie down.

I know I know.

Give me more Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, Thor and Hulk please.

Whats the difference? Alot. For starters a tighter script on IM3 that the Director actually wanted to film.

I saw the trailer of that movie in MTV Video Music Awards and its alright. Though even if it performs big at the box-office, it wouldn't hurt DOFP.

I think $500 million for DOFP is a lock!

After a month of The Wolverine's successful release, DOFP is still in IMDb's top 10 most popular movies/tv shows

Quote:
1. Kick-Ass 2
2. City of Bones
3. Breaking Bad
4. We're the Millers
5. Elysium
6. The Butler
7. X-Men: Days of Future Past
8. The Conjuring
9. Catching Fire
10. Game of Thrones
http://pro.imdb.com/moviemeter/?d=tt_moviemeter_why
Its only the 2014 film that is inside the top ten! $MA$H!

in Totalfilm has been loosing positions, but its totally normal, since other movies have gotten some big news lately.

Once we get the trailer, Dofp will climb again on most lists

Here is something from BOM. Has Wolverine In The Toss Up Section.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3724&p=.htm

Quote:
The Wolverine: As a follow-up to the poorly-received X-Men Origins: Wolverine—and with a cast made up largely of unknown Japanese actors—The Wolverine wound up being the lowest-grossing movie in the X-Men franchise at the domestic box office (just over $130 million). At the same time, it's already the highest-grossing outing overseas, and that's before it even reaches Japan.

Hopefully DOFP, won't be in the toss up section next year but in the winners section!

Yeah, most importantly i care about quality and then box office. Let's hope it's winners with both critics and at the box office.

Well, Marvel had tighter control over their Phase I movies and was criticized for it. For IM3 they gave Shane Black a much longer leash and creative control than other directors, but people still complain about it. It's hard to please the audience.

Btw, it was RDJ who lobbied hard for Shane Black to take the helm of IM3.

The only audience I ever hear complain about Iron Man 3 are comic fans on "nerdy" sites. It's why I never listen to reviews from any of them, otherwise Man of Steel would be critically acclaimed.

I haven't seen it yet, but how is Man of Steel a "toss up?" It looks like it did rather well.

it debuted extremely well, comic films normally have strong OW and strong legs but the way WOM and critical response killed it. It made GOOD money but it could have done much, much more money in its position.

after Superman returns, MoS did GREAT numbers.

660 millions on just first movie is bigger than most solo movies, I think its the second one behind Spiderman.

People expecting a billion werent realistic.
