I feel bad for Emily Van Camp because Revenge has it's season 3 premier at 9pm this sunday going against the finale of Breaking Bad. As sexy as she is she doesn't stand a chance against the BrBa juggernaut

You do realize network television brings in nearly three times as many viewers as cable shows on average? Breaking Bad MIGHT equal the premiere ratings because it's the last episode, but it just started getting higher ratings this year due to it being the final season. For the first 4 and a half seasons it barely averaged more than 1.7 million viewers.

Another possibility I've thought of is that the Phil Coulson now working for SHIELD isn't the Phil Coulson of the MCU's universe at all, but a version of him from an adjacent universe who was brought over with some alien technology. In this scenario, Fury's scientists could have been attempting to use what they thought was time travel technology to reach back to a point prior to Coulson's death and pull him forward. Unfortunately, that's not really possible as it would cause all manner of paradoxical problems. So what the process actually did was reach over into a universe adjacent to our own, where there was also a Phil Coulson still alive, and pulled that man into the MCU universe. The scientists quickly realized the mistake that they had made, but couldn't sent Phil2 back. When Phil2 figured out that something drastic had happened, he told them that he was living an entirely different life from Phil1: wife, kids, a job as a high school principle, etc. So Fury & co. wiped Phil2's memories of his real life and implanted false ones from the Phil Coulson they knew.

Imagine if that were the case and Phil found out that he'd been snatched from his life and loved ones and could never return. Cue all the angst and tragedy. Of course it's not to be, but I'd love to see something as twisted as that.
I don't think they will ever establish alternative universes in the MCU universe. That seems very complicated.

Last Sunday's Breaking Bad got 6.5 million viewers. Tonight's will undoubtedly have a bigger audience, but it's probably not going to beat the big network offerings. Sunday Night Football alone will top 20 million.

I don't recall Whedon saying there was no magic in AOU. If that's so, why is Scarlet Witch there and what will be her powers

I think that he said that Ultron was so powerful in the comics that it was LIKE he was magic. He'll be weaker in the film. Whedon also said that "I already have an actual witch in the film" so I'm not worried about Wanda.

He reportedly said that there would be no magic in Agents of SHIELD, not the Avengers sequel

I think Ultron has at times been way too overpowered in comics and animation.

He's the robot version of Superman. I'm glad they're powering him down a bit.

"The visual appearance and powers of the character have varied, but common powers include superhuman levels of strength, speed, stamina, durability, and reflexes; flight at subsonic speeds; and various offensive weapons such as concussive blasts of energy fired from its optical sensors and hands, and an "encephalo-ray", which places victims into a deathlike coma. The latter ray also allows Ultron to mesmerize and mind-control victims, or implant subliminal hypnotic commands within their minds to be enacted at a later time. Ultron also has the ability to convert electromagnetic radiation into electrical energy for use or storage. Ultron has a genius intellect, a capacity for creative intelligence and self-repair, superhuman cybernetic analytical capabilities, and the ability to process information and make calculations with superhuman speed and accuracy. The character is an expert roboticist and strategist."

Yeah he's way too overpowered lol xD How the Avengers defeat him in the comics, always baffles me.

Fury made a deal with the devil to bring Coulson back. The compromise? The devil was fed up of the lack of diversity in the Avengers and demanded that Fury be black. Fury, inclined more to his former colleague who died needlessly over his pigmentation, chose to become a brotha. Yes, Nick Fury was actually David Hasselhoff in the beginning, but the Devil's workings have made us retroactively perceive him as being Samuel Jackson.

Two birds, one stone.

Also, Mephisto demanded that Fury put another female on the team, preferable a magical one.

But Fury was black before Coulson died.

Damn 2 years later? I like that though. This film is my most anticipated for phase 2 besides GOTG.

Considering that Cap is still a 90 year old virgin as far as we know, I wonder if he's discovered the strange world of Internet Porn yet? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Well, now that we know on when the events of this film take place, that still leaves the mystery of why SHIELD was absent from Iron Man 3.

We know that based on the events of "Agents of SHIELD" that the Extremis virus is on their watch and you'd think that they'd show up all over the scene if Tony was attacked by the Mandarin and presumed dead for awhile.

SHIELD was absent in IM 3 because a lot of people complained that they were in IM 2 TOO MUCH. So, Marvel tried to address that complaint, but went too far the other way.

I find it hillaribad that, if that is true, they're just turning around and putting too much SHIELD in a Cap movie instead.

I'm not a big fan of the 2 year time gap, though I wonder if it is true. At comic-con, they said the movie doesn't go into exactly how much time has passed, and one of the directors said, 'Almost a year, maybe'

It's simple: the American government basically told SHIELD to let them and their new PR boost in the form of the Iron Patriot to handle the threat.

perhaps, but that still doesn't add up as to why no one showed up for iron man

I think it makes perfect sense, SHIELD deals with global threats, this was an American conflict. You don't send in the military to stop a robbery that's how I see it.
