I really don't see it as being that vicious, with all that time devoted to thinking about a rival. It's not good business practice to spend all your time worrying about what someone else is doing. You just get on and do what you do, with maybe an eye on the competition but not an obsessive campaign against them.

Even if Marvel got the X-Men back, they wouldn't have time to do anything with them. They would put them on the shelf like Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, etc.

Marvel/Disney are just doing what they do and doing it well - the superhero films are generally well-received, the marketing is brilliant and the box office is very good. I would hardly think Fox's output is on their radar. They've got Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Inhumans and tons of other stuff to think about. Why would they waste time thinking about X-Men? They certainly aren't going to go out of their way to promote or help the X-Men movies, but they won't be wasting time on negative stuff either.

Fox only has itself to blame for the dips in quality a few years back (X3, Origins, F4 1 and 2, Elektra, Daredevil). Marvel didn't cause any of that.

This all points to disney trying to hurt X-Men films.

Why would any real X-Men fan support this?

And considering star wars will likely be ppushed to christmas by Disney what makes anyone think X-Men would be high priority by them If they got the rights back. And it's not like if they put out merchandize marvel wouldn't make any money.

Disney and Fox are BILLION dollar companies. That are vicious. They don't care abot Good Business Practice, if Disney or Fox had the power to make another studio fail they will damn well use that power.

It doesn't matter that Disney wouldn't make anymore X films with the rights. As long as they have the rights other studios don't, and can't make money off them. Fox, Paramount and Warner would have gladly steal each others franchises and not make films out of them. Other studios' failures just makes them look better. If one studio loses a major franchise, all the other studios are cooking up plans to try and replace it. There's money to be had.

X-Men will be fine without these merchandises, FOX just needs to release films that will really attract to the general audience and they need to step up their marketing.

Without a doubt.

As a fanboy, I have been wanting to add more costume cards to my collection along with a movie Sentinel fig.

I'd say Fox needs to start selling figures for this movie around christmas or early spring next year! It's not big secret that merchandise can help a film score in big bucks i.e. TDK, TDKR, Spider-Man and Avengers grossed a significant amount of $ off of clothes, toys, games, etc.

This is Fox's chance to really bring in the $, I'm hoping the billion dollar mark, FC did good but because of no merchandise that kind of hurt it's gross pockets as well.

We haven't gotten a full team of X-Men/Brotherhood figures since '00, so to release the future X-Men, FC, Sentinel figures will send us fan boys/girls into a shopping frenzy!! Fox would be crazy to pass up this opportunity

We are getting hot toys for wolverine based on "The wolverine". So I don't know why it's not possible to release 7 inches version of it.

^The Wolverine also got those mini-figs.

I wouldn't be surprised if DOFP has those too.

They showed a Chalres Xavier like two years ago and never released it. They've made like 20+ MCU figures and only 3 X-Men all of which are Wolverine. Disney pretty much owns them.

There's pretty much no high-end X-Men movie merch and it vexes me so

Not even X-Men or Spider-Man movie LEGO. Only MCU stuff

I ****ing hate Disney for punishing the fans just because they can't get their way.

Your response on the "Keep Hope Alive" FF thread after it was announced that some progress was made on the reboot is appropriate here........

Finished collecting the Japanese movie theater programs at a convention this weekend, so now I have them for all 6 X-Men movies:

I can't read a thing in them since they're in Japanese, but the photos and are great, plus a few of them have inserts of the posters with the Japanese titles. Apparently, "First Class" is "First Generation" in Japan.

But they're pretty cool to have, especially since they never do books or magazines here anymore.

It's Zero because it's a prequel. But considering the movie...insert your own joke there.

The First Class one lets you revisit some of that wonderful poster art.
