Because they both fight for the same thing. You also sound like a misandrist. You see this is why I do hate feminism with a burning passion. I mean the empowerment of women is one thing but when you have to bring men into it it grosses me out. 'Men should do this and that' at the result of not feeling loved by men or perhaps by one man in their past. Because they've been hurt by one man in their past suddenly every other man must come under their law.

Tom was not FAT in season 10 at-all. If you think this is fat http://latimesherocomplex.files.word...148b.jpg?w=500 then you must be pretty slim. I highly doubt him being 'fat' was the reason he didn't put on the costume. It seemed to be a creative choice by the producers and possibly Tom himself. I would have loved to see him in the costume, but honestly sooner or later people need to get over it and just be glad with what we got.

Regarding Lois, her donning costumes and going undercover is a quirk and part of her personality. Which also happened in Lois and Clark. So called feminists also get things so screwed up when they believe every woman should be 100% empowered, 100% superwoman, 100% tough, 100% butch, 100% in armor, 100% covered up at all times to respect her dignity onscreen and that if a female character is not portrayed in this way it is blatant misogyny. It just isn't realistic, not every single woman on earth is Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun. Some women are more feminine, some are more comfortable with their sexuality. It's no big deal, it's the world we live in.

What I do find inappropriate and off-putting is when someone is reduced to their sexuality and the way they look. They are told show your body or get out when they in actual fact have SO much more to offer people than that. Or it doesn't have to just be ones body, just any time when someone is used for one aspect of themselves while another aspect is disrespected, I find disgusting. You act like you're sticking up for women, DA_Champion, but what you are really doing is putting down men by calling Tom fat and saying he was unworthy of playing next to Erica. Clearly you are reducing Tom down to just his looks and disrespecting him because he doesn't live up to you're ideas how you'd like him to look, which basically comes across as misandry.
Did you write that entire soliloquy just to state an equivalence between Clark Kent wearing the supersuit and lois lane dressing up in funny outfits?

They're not equivalent. Good day.

Amy Adams looks stunning in that picture.

I really hope she has a prominent role in the sequel. She is a tremendous actress... let her shine.

But the reality is that that show set Lois up to be the one who was "blind." NOw, don't get me wrong---it WORKED on that show and it was beautiful. It worked.
I think in a lot of ways "Lois and Clark" rushed the creation of Superman too much. I sort of see why they included in him the pilot, but I think the show would have been better if Superman never appeared until further into the first season.

They also took way too long for Lois to find out, and then she found out way too abruptly. True, it was a romantic situational comedy, and there is lots of comedy in her not knowing. However by the end of season 2 they were more exploiting it for the utter frustration of Clark going to save people from death and having Lois explode at him for running out. I see why they went that way, but they drew it out too long.

Plus, several episodes before Lois says to Clark that he is a lot like Superman. Her not seeing through his disguise sooner was just too much. I can buy that the classes make Clark look totally different. I can buy that a flashy suit is the last thing Clark would wear. However when he is her best friend, her work partner, and they have even started dating, she really should see.

While I would say that MOS should have shown us more of Lois searching before discovering who Clark was, I am really glad they went the couse of her knowing. People who are not Clark's close friends not knowing, and even distant friends works. However, there is no easy credible way or someone who really is a deep, personal friend of Clark's not to discover it.

The look of Concern on Lois's face for Superman while the determination that he had on his face, was well acted and performed.
I have to say the best rescue scene in MOS is when Lois hugs Clark after he has to kill Zod. There are more ways to rescue than one, and here Lois is rescuing Clark emotionally.

Equivalent? Yes they are in a way. So let me guess, Clark wearing the suit is fine, but Lois wearing an undercover costume is not? Why is this exactly? Is it because it is okay for men to show their figure in a costume but if a woman does it is wrong or sexist/ misogynistic? Why should men have certain physiques and wear skin-tight costumes but women never should? If a woman wanted to wear one why should this not be allowed? Why do you feel you must stop this? You will not be able to answer this question articulately or properly, because this is just your own personal opinion, that if a woman goes undercover in a costume, it is a taboo. But it is fine for a man. I suppose you disagree with all female superheroes as well I imagine?

I hope we get to see Lois doing some undercover investigating in BMvSM. However, I also hope they do not go the route undercover investigation=woman wearing virtually no clothes.

On the SV issue, I think they went to far on this front. Even L&C went that route more than they really should have. Now if Lois had actually gotten engaged to Lex as part of a very complex undercover operation I would think differently of it.

We got rush through on Lois investigating the man who saved her. I hope we get less rush on her investigations in the next film.

I seriously doubt they would have Amy wearing a skimpy costume in order to go undercover. The Lois they have established with Amy's is one who dresses very conservatively and restrained. The Lois they established with Erica is one who has a sense of humor and is comfortable with her body. We also have to remember this is a television show and they have to get ratings. How many TV shows directed towards women have the obligatory male character who is only there to walk around shirtless? Mostly existing on soap operas and shows on CW. It's just the way television works. There's always a hottie. How many times was Oliver shirtless? This is a show with a male lead character but that is done to appeal to women. If you have a problem with Lois showing flesh, have a problem with people showing flesh, unless you'll be called sexist.

Yeah, I can see Lois saying it later and the military picking it up from there, the guy says "that's what they're calling him" Lois was stuck with the military during most of that last part of the movie. It's still possible she named him.

She calls him superman during the interrogation scene in the MoS novelization, I wonder why they decided to cut it and edit the scene to make it so different in the actual film.

If that's the case,it's a pretty cheap laugh.

I mean,I think Supe deserves his "I'm Batman" moment. In this case, some background character gets to deliver the iconic name first. It's just so wrong.

Yup, let the auduence enjoy a good character moment rather than rushing to the next action sequence as fast as possible.

People would have laughed anyway, their flirting was funny. There was no need to cut her off.

Remember that poll about which Superhero couple people want to see be married again. Lois and Clark have now pulled into the lead, 46 votes ahead of Spiderman and Mary Jane, to be at 31.0% to 30.5%. Happy days are here again.

Oh I'm definitely not happy that Lois was the last one to know. It was one of the many things that pissed me off about Smallville and how they treated Lois. The actual reveal is all I am talking about, that she discovers the truth from him kissing her was a throwback to LnC. Like u said it is irritating and infuriating that Lois was the last to know and everyone was in on the conspiracy to keep her in the dark; I might be too sensitive but if that was done to me I'd be pissed off.

Smallville is a version of the Superman story. In this version Clark is not yet Superman and Lois is not yet the classic Lois of the comics. It is only in the flashforwards (the one in Salvation, Homecoming and Finale) where Clark and Lois are their classic comic book counterparts. Before that, they are playing younger, specialised, elseworlds-like versions of their characters. You're unhappy about the way Lois was treated second best? Be angry at the way they dragged the Clana thing on. That was what was stopping Clois from happening and Szetsilya I do not know what exactly you're problem is with Erica's Lois, that she wore all the costumes or that she was treated second best. Remember this is a sci-fi TV show, made for teens and young adults. it is not a high-art adult film. I do not see the problem with using Lois for humor. I know so often there's the sidekick character who is always given the jokes but what is the issue with having Lois have funny lines? It's not like she was treated as a complete dumbo bimbo **** character.

And I mean, the people trying to say Amy Adams was way better than Erica as Lois. Well at least Erica's Lois had a life outside of Clark/ Superman. Amy's Lois seemed like a glorified fan girl. Or fan woman rather. She was like one of those women who sit at home watching the TV loving Superman, wishing they could be rescued by him, then one day get the call to go to 'play' Lois Lane against the guy they were drooling over on the Tudors. Erica didn't just go to 'play Lois' like a child in a school play, she actually embodied Lois, through and though. She got to BE Lois during that time on the screen. And in my opinion she rose to any materiel she was given, regardless of how ridiculous it got.

Also, don't give me the excuse you don't get as much time in movie's. Margot didn't, but in her time she was another example of nailing the character beyond just putting on the Lois outft and getting caught by Superman. She is not perfect by modern-day standards, but if you just watch her performance, not her looks or clothes, you will be find she has a lot more natural strength and integriy appropriate for the character than Amy does.

Not to put Amy down, but I honestly do not understand how people see her as the definitive Lois Lane.

I thought she did fine with what she was given, but I agree that she wasn't exactly what I would consider definitive, by any stretch.

People are saying Amy's Lois was the definitive Lois?

I really don't understand how anyone can say that, based on the few scenes she had, during none of which did either the actress OR the character get to shine IMO.

They threw in a couple of 'Loisey' lines, and they put their own spin on the relationship by making it all about trust and honesty rather than having this a big secret between them (which while I enjoyed as a new take, was pretty far from 'definitive' Lois and Superman).

But there's simply not enough meat there. They didn't really explore her character... they just showed parts of it, in this vague, 2d, dispassionate way.

Obviously it's easier to say that a tv show explored the character in more depth. They have a lot more time to do it, a lot more scenes come to our minds that make us feel like they really understood that character.

And I do prefer Amy's Lois (as a personal taste based on the personality we did get to see) over any other film Lois depiction.

... But saying she's the definitive Lois Lane... it just feels like it does the character an injustice, because she is MUCH MUCH more than we got here.

And Lois getting into one or two outfits is fine, but the amount circumstances and overall way Lois was written on the show made her come off as a joke and only there to show off skin. For a few seasons it seemed like all she did was put on a dumb outfit and make stupid one liners because the writers had nothing else to do with her.
There really is no comparing Lois wearing nonstop silly costumes to Clark wearing his iconic superhero costume and becoming Superman; I'm pretty sure the whole becoming Superman is what people wanted, not seeing a man in a skin tight blue suit.
Speaking of Lois and Clark, Smallville had their reveal happen in a similar way to LnC; except the former had a kiss not a touch. Smallville's reveal was better because Lois had never kissed The Blur; though I did feel her relationship with him became a little ridiculous.
Well in L&C one of Lois's kisses of Superman was what she thought was a result of him being under the influence of the pheromone spray, and the other was initiated by her just before he flew off into space. Also, she had not kissed Clark under non-ruse or about to part forever circumstances to that point. Although, I have to admit Lois figuring out by a touch really begged the question of why she had not figured out before, and the only consistent reason is the plot never called for it before.
