Oh, it's the guy who wrote "Who is Jake Ellis?" Then I'm completely sold, I really enjoyed that book. I only had read it because he came onto our weekly Diamond List threads and promoted it.

This has me excited and who doesn't love Frank wearing a "I'm not Daredevil" shirt. I'm excited for the future once again!

edit:
-read the interview and I have to say I'm looking forward to the human elements they're going to add to Frank. I want to see how he'll interact with the normal people as they said.

-L.A. could be an interesting shift. Like with Scarlet Spider and Venom, I like that they're moving Marvel characters to different parts of the US.

Yeah, it reminds me when I first started reading comics. Iron Man was based in Cali (as were the WC Avengers), Cap was more nationwide, Hulk was pretty much bouncing around the Midwest, X-Men were in Australia. They all don't have to be in NYC.

I don't mind the change of location so thats only a small detail considering what has gone before. That art is very good and I like that the writer and artist already have an established relationship. New York can keep for a while should be very interesting. I hope the military base side of things can be played up as I am seeing the Punisher skull show up on varied military insignia and promotional materials. Kingdom Gone is one of my favorite old school Frank tale for this reason. As 'Dingo says exciting times especially with an Ennis tale coming too

It's good when creators do that - I've ordered it so looking forward to checking it out.

Yeah, he seemed like a real nice guy so I gave it a shot. Sure enough, it was well worth it.

Edmondson on the Punisher makes it a must-read for me. I love the Jake Ellis minis.

Glad to hear that others are interested in this - looking forward to getting the TPB's of Edmondson's previous works. Also did anyone spot the below in the January solicitations? Marco illustrating the Punisher again!

Also Corp did you just take the 'Rucka' out of the thread title? if so thanks! Every time I posted here it saddened me that that run had ended, hopefully Edmondson has a long quality run

this is cool http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/10/...daredevil-now/

Yeah, I took it out. Figured it was about time since Rucka's run ended months ago and no new Punisher thread had come up to replace this one.

I always love a new Punisher title, but doesn't anyone else feel slightly annoyed at the constant resets/issue #1's Marvel always resorts to? I find it kind of frustrating. It seems like they constantly change their mind over whether or not Frank can have his own book, so as a result we end up with a bunch of mini-series that don't really connect with each other rather than a constant flow of stories a la MAX.

Will this new one acknowledge anything at all about Rucka's run? Or is it gonna be yet another fresh start?

Anyone have read the Punisher: The Trial #2? It's a masterpiece!

Balthus: Well Frank will work in both Thunderbolts and in his own title, so this will pick up what Rucka's has done. But don't expect any mentions of previous stuff happened in Rucka's. Like for instance: How he escaped from the underwater prison. That should be explained in T-Bolts, i think.

I have talked to Soule awhile ago and he said he had an idea to explain how Frank escaped from the the underwater prison. BUT, he had other stories to tell, first...

For those who didn't saw, Axel Alonso shared yesterday this piece of what we can expect from the character. I have shared in my fan page on FB.

I read the Trial #2 yesterday and really enjoyed it. It was very good and reminded me of the Ennis story the Cell. I liked the DD flashback and Frank winning that confrontation so yes it was good as was getting a new Punisher comic even if it was only for two months. I have also seen that image elsewhere too but that doesn't mean it isn't great! I have since read Who is Jake Ellis and enjoyed it so looking forward to this run even more now. Hope it takes off and flies off the shelves!

The Punisher is really underrated as a strategist. Much like Batman the reason Frank is able to win is because he does his research, is cunning and has prep time on lock down

+1
Definetely, it seems that sometimes writers prefer to write him as only "a man with guns" and forget about his intelect. As a military man he is a strategist and Rucka and Guggenheim did a wonderful job in this matter.

Rucka illustrated that excellently in War Zone. Even the Avengers had trouble dealing with Frank, not because he was dumb enough to try and outgun them, but because he knew them, knew what would pull their strings, and wasn't afraid to use whatever means he needed to. That one issue where he gets the Black Widow off his trail by showing her a village full of children in need, knowing she'd prefer to help them than chase him, was brilliant.

Did you guys read Ennis's Fury Max run? I thought it was pretty boring. It sounds like his new Punisher story follows the same sort of idea, too. Hopefully it's good.

Hmm which one? I didn't care for his first one but enjoyed his second one set in the second world war. I really liked the most recent one My War Gone By with Frank and Barracuda guest starring. Really tragic and interesting take on Fury and CIA influence on global politics. It's the best thing I have read by Ennis in a while.

I'm referring to My War Gone By vol. 1. I found it to be mostly boring political jabber, personally. I never read the second volume, though, so maybe it got better.

I don't recall Frank or Baraccuda's cameos. Did they show up in vol. 2 or am I just not remembering? It's been a while heh.
