Default Anime Avengers

Quote:
Imagine the power of Marvel super heroes combined with the popularity of anime. Okay, so anime isn't quite as big any more, but imagine it's an anime with a collectible toyline that doubles as a game, like B-Daman, Beyblade or Vanguard. A Marvel anime with a collectible toy-based game would likely rule the world, and now one is coming.

Marvel has just announced Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers, which is being animated by anime powerhouse Toei Animation and will debut worldwide in Spring 2014. According to the press release, "The story will revolve around how The Avengers – Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk together with the help of Spider-Man and a group of teens, will harness their respective fighting skills and superhuman powers to foil Loki’s scheme to take over the world."

The discs are a mystery at this point, but Bandai Japan is already set to make toys for the series, which I'm 99% sure will be some sort of game where kids use discs emblazoned with their favorite Marvel heroes and villains, and which will require kids to buy packs and pack of blind-packaged disc sets.

I'm calling it right now: Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers will be the meth epidemic of this generation of children. Parents, start saving your money because you're about to pay for a lot of tiny plastics discs.
I've said it once and I will say it again, Marvel is trying to take over the world!

If they put this in the hands of a writing team that gets what made A:EMH so good, then we have nothing to worry about. If ANYONE from MOA is involved, just wait to pirate it people.

It cannot be any worse than 'Avengers Assemble,' so I am not going to automatically condemn it, as I usually do with other properties/franchises.

just saw Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United... I gotta admit, I really liked it and I especially enjoyed how the Hulk was portrayed here, though IM/Stark can really get on my nerves for being such a cock at times... but I'd still recommend this one for just pure harmless fun...

and look for the extra final scene after the end credits... yeah, it's JUST like the way they do it with the live-action movies...

WTF? That looks awful! Are they really having kids using the heroes Pokemon style? FAIL!

ETA: Just read the description for the show

In the anime, portable capturing devices known as "DISKs" were developed to capture evil villains. However, thanks to Loki's machinations, both villains and heroes are sealed up in these Disks and scattered around the world. Amid the chaos, five youths obtained the power to restore these DISK-sealed heroes through a program called "Biocode." These youths received five DISKs that Spider-Man, who narrowly escaped being sealed himself, retrieved. Thus, these five can restore Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Wasp — the Avengers!

Couldn't they just for once make a serious attempt at adapting the Marvel characters? I mean, Japan did a much more interesting take on superheroes with Tyger and Bunny than they've ever done with these adapted properties. Give us some serious and personal tales, even if they change from the comics, give us Demon in a bottle Tony Stark, give us depressed Banner and crazy hulk, give us dangerous Black Widow and do a straight forward serious guy with Captain America.

Come one, blow our minds in a good way like you do with other anime, not this type of stupidity.

Japan's insane Marvel Super Heroes anime/disk game is hilariously awful

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Quote:
We've told you about Marvel Super Heroes: Disk Wars, the anime series and about its Pokémon-esque, accompanying collectible disk game, that it's basically just a commercial for. But did you know the game itself is basically pogs?

Bandai has released this promo for the anime along with instructions on how the game, called Bachicombat, works, and hoo boy. Here's how Anime News Network explained it:

To start a game of Bachicombat, each player assembles one to three Smash DISKs and sets up four Defense DISKs on his or her side of the playing field. After deciding who should attack first, the battle starts. Player 1 chooses one of the Smash DISKs, calls out the DISK's character ("Smash with
Iron Man
's Tech Lv. 2!! D-Smash!!"), and throws down the DISK against Player 2's Defense DISKs.

The objective of the game is to flip the other player's Defense DISKs. It is hard to flip a Defense DISK by striking its center, so the video advices players to aim for the corners. A player loses a DISK if it is flipped over. A player wins if his or her opponent has no more DISKs.
Literally the only differences between Bachicombat and pogs are that you don't stack Bachicombat disks before you start slamming them, and the discs are engineered to flip a bit easier than if they were just cardboard.

So it's clear that Marvel Super Heroes: Disk Wars is for little kids, but I don't know — I have a hard time imagining that even four-year-olds in this day and age are going to be too excited about playing a game whose pieces look like they weren't good enough to be the prize in a box of cereal.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...promo-streamed

So not only is the Cartoon basically just a rip off of other anime with Marvel characters but the game itself is cheap, hot garbage too. Way to go Marvel
