So lately my Samsung Galaxy 2 is giving me some problems, I don't know if it's my memory or my sd card but whenever I listen to music or audio it glitches/skips every now and then. Has anyone experienced that before?

as an s4 owner, i'd go for the s4. the s3 is fine if it's much cheaper, but the screen/specs/camera are notably worse than the s4 even if it looks similar physically (though the s4 does look/feel nicer). almost certain you can find a good deal on the s4 soon as well. also depends how long you are gonna keep your phone; if 2 years, i would go s4 or the g2.

also, i don't trust phones anymore that aren't from samsung/apple/sony/google moto. lg and htc, etc. just aren't players to me anymore, and i always feel full support isn't a given. i got screwed by moto when i got my phone 2 years ago (before they got bought by google) and i realized flagship phones from the main players are the only way to go. also, there will be more support with accessories; for example all the best cases, add-ons, etc. made available are usually only for the iphone or s3/s4.

i dont understand why apple doesnt put a 3300mAh battery in their phone. they exist. my phone has one. and it has an amazing battery life. i could go 2 days of heavy use without charging. if iphones had better batteries, i'd consider switching.

Basic question here.

Do those clear sticker screen covers really protect your screen?

Are they worth the trouble?

It depends on what you get. You'll find cheap ones on eBay that are like clear stickers but they're not great. Higher quality ones like Zagg and Skinomi are good.

If your phone doesn't have Gorilla Glass or you plan on reselling it when you're done, it's a good investment. I always get one for my smartphones.

I just looked up gorilla glass and I'm so relieved my Galaxy S4 has it.

I hate using screen covers.

Thanks for the knowledge!

I've had my Droid Bionic for a about 15 months now. It lives in my pocket and is used extensively every day. I've never put a screen protector on it and I have only 2 or 3 very small scratches that are, honestly, unnoticeable.

2 iPhones in 4 years, no screen protectors needed. No scratches or anything...

Only idiots buy that stuff, it's a waste of cash.

I get it if you don't want to use one, but is it necessary to be an a**hole about it?

Yeah... when these items are going for $20-$30 a pop and the majority of this country eat them up because they can't treat something that cost $200+ initially nicely or with any care in the first place.

What's next,

non-scratchable film for your sunglasses...

bumpers on all steps...

knee pads put into all pants...?

All I can say is I'm very tempted at chucking my Lumia at one of you guys and hopefully one of your skulls will be thick enough to break it, without causing injuries to you of course , because the new Nokia Lumia 1520 looks GAWR-GEOUS, darling, GAWR-GEOUS!

I don't know how easy it would be for me to transition to Windows from Android. I've had Android since the beginning with my old G1.

I do take care of my phone. That doesn't insure nothing will ever happen to it. There's no need to call me an idiot over it.

Depends on what your needs are in a phone and what apps you use. High customization is definitely not one of WP's strong suits and there are certain apps absent that may or may not have a decent third-party alternative. When it comes to OSes other than the mobile duopoly of Android and iOS, research can be your very best friend.

If you or whomever decides to dive in, I would recommend a Lumia as Nokia and its app collection really fill the holes, feature-wise, in the OS (Microsloth being its usual self). But if those brightly-colored 'bricks' don't tickle your fancy, you can always be audacious and try a Samsung or HTC (rumor has it, they're working on a dual-boot HTC One with both Android and WP) device and when Microsoft acquires Nokia, officially, ,maybe their firmware and app features will be intergrated into the OS and available for all devices.

there's not a thing windows phone has on android. the beauty of android is you can have the features and look of windows phone if you want it. having your phone look and act the way you want it is why android is the best OS, imo.

also, i haven't checked in a while, but i'm pretty sure windows is still lagging on apps support in comparison to android/ios.

Nah, I like my answer better.

Now that I read this article on WPCentral, AT&T can kiss my ass. I should have known once they invested in PMA wireless charging technology they would have pulled that crap on Nokia (Qi wireless charging tech is used on their phones).

I guess Nokia should look at Verizon as a potential new partner since they're invested in the same technology. Hello insane carrier branding.

Here's instructions on Verizon's site. I recommend doing it the alternate method with having the phone off first. I recall reading that it is better at clearing everything.
A little late here but I finally got around to doing my factory reset. I did it using the menu though within the phone. It seems to have taken care of the bugs I was experiencing.
So thanks for the help

By the way, has anyone downgraded their android devices? Are there any risks in doing so?

It's usually not possible to go backwards. I know with the Bionic, on ICS, you could FXZ (flash compressed zip file) the stock system if your phone was bricked. On JB, it wasn't possible last I checked.

So it seems that Motorola will develop this whole Phone Bloks thing. I admit that I am curious to see what comes out of it.

Hey guys. I just got a Galaxy S3 and I'm not real thrilled with the texting app. Can anyone here recommend a good replacement? I'm coming from a Droid Bionic and I really liked Motorola's standard app.
